I don't fully understand the point here. He has a mental issue. So, that's the baseline of the problem. He needs help. On the question of states, monuments, naming of streets, etc we should not hold ourselves to keeping them. As a black nation that was discovered by Indians who were raped, killed and turned into slaves, we should not honor a man that is the very symbol of such horrific acts especially given our history which is stained by thre same acts.
As stated above the person who committed the act of vandalism has a mental health problem. He doesn't need a pardon. He needs psychiatric care. There are provisions in the law that recognizes this issue.
We need to also check history as facts dispute what we are teaching kids. We were told for years Columbus discovered the Bahamas. You can't discover a country when you find other people there. Also, he accidentally got here. He had no clue where he was yet Africans for a century or more knew the route. But, we celebrate European ignorance and savagery as a great achievement.
This whole article keeps saying, "me, me, me". This is the nature of competition. If you can't compete, ypu can't survive. URCA is trash. So, I can understand their frustration that URCA is working backwards. However, the problem isn't that consumers are harmed or there is a risknfor the country. This is a company asking a regulator to adjust the rules to.allow them to exist at a disadvantage to the consumer. Seriously?! Say bye bye to Cable Bahamas. Thanks for the article. Now I know I need to switch to Starlink.
I'm not sure what he's arguing here. The court did all it can do. You need the law surrounding the situation to change to allow the courts the room to levy a heavy penalty. What is over the top here is he is confronting them to "warn" them. That doesn't seem like a smart move. This could have turned into a serious confrontation. The smart thing would have been to simply report it as he doesn't have the right to act as law enforcement. I agree that they should be penalized to deter them and that they shouldn't be doing these illegal tours. However, playing cop ok the sea without a badge just gets dangerous. Luckily, nothing happened. Being right don't doesn't mean doing something wrong is right.
Are these figures correct? If so, let's say there are 100,000 teens. Thus means 20,000 have attempted suicide. In most cases or all there would be a need for some medical assistance. So, that's about 60 ER cases per day potentially. Keep in mind this doesn't include attempts by people outside of this age bracket. If there's a major uptick in hospital visits because of this you don't need a survey. To me, the content of the article doesn't line up with the expected response. Also, why isn't there a mention of what the average figures are globally? Putting numbers aside one death or one attempt is one too many.
Do we really believe the PLP trying to get rid of corruption anywhere? Lol. The idea here is to pretend like they're trying to do something but the PM is so clueless and incompetent he didn't realize that he should allocate an amount that at least give the illusion he's trying even if he never uses it. Corruption and slowness.
Once again, poor journalism. When will this project be up and running? There are three phases mentioned but no mention of when they expect to complete these phases. Also, they are mentioning veryical.farming and that it requires less water and it enables farming year round but didn't give details into the process explaining how this is achieved. Also, given that it's not natural for crops to grow out of their season, shouldn't someone ask if there are risks involved in this approach?
Also, the article mentions 1.5m is given by three government initially but it wasn't clear for me when the $35million comes into play and who is paying this balance. The Tribune needs to ensure their journalists actually understand journalism. The media houses are just putting ink on paper and blogs online. There is zero concept of critical thinking.
Smt. An airline that is notoriously late, overstaffed with maintenance issues constantly that results in a number of their fleet being grounded should not be adding costs to the consumer.
This is an opportunity to assess what other issues exist within the system. This is definitely not good for this student. I don't know much about Mrs. Glenys Hanna-Martin but it seems from the tidbits I've heard that she means well. Hopefully, this girl along with others within the schools can get the necessary things needed to.ensure they can get an education.
This is backwards. Properly regulate the industry. Put safety measures in place. What's smarter would be to put tracking devices on the registered jetskis to ensure they haven't ventured outside designated areas. Make it clear to tourists that they should only rent jetskis from designated areas where the registered operators are. Anyone found on breach automatically gets their license suspended. Give hefty fines to unlicensed operators when caught along with a warning. If found again operating illegally give a higher fine and arrest them. If you add some jail time here as well, you can solve the problem.
Yes, yes and yes. Like the old saying goes two wrongs don't make a right. I would love to see politicians here go to jail. There would be so few of them on either side of the aisle left to elect. The system reeks from top to bottom, from the receptionist to the Minister responsible for each Ministry or department. Just shameful! Every administration from UBP to now filled with criminals. A national history and present of disgrace.
