Although, Mr. Davis is taking the time to score political points, he is right. We can argue about the alleged corruption of the PLP; the abuse of the public purse, etc. But, we gave yo be realistic here, the PM has failed in terms if containment of this virus. To say that the government has done all it could is a joke. The Ministry of Tourism didn't consult the Ministry of Health before deciding to reopen. We can see that with thr Chief Medical.Officer trying to avoid a direct answer when a reporter asked her about giving the ok for the the reopening. The million dollar question is, why are we reopening when our numbers are out of control? Tourists are not traveling because of fear of the virus. The global economy is in the toilet. The US and other countries have or will have travel adversaries to tell their citizens. The major properties Atlantis, Bahanar, Sandals, etc are closed. We have no plan in place. Our hospitals are near capacity. So, the smart.things is to reopen? Reopening automatically translates to.an increase in cases.

So, once again, how do you conclude that the government is doing everything they can do? This is reckless governance. We know that Bahamiand will go to Miami. We know that some of the sprinkling of tourists that come here will be positive. We can quote about the statement in the testing before arrival and before leaving. But, anyone with a grain of commonsense would know that's BS. You can test.negative for 10 days and test positive on day 11. So, that's not helpful. We had with this dumb reopening idea also the other idea of tourists quarantining forn14 days. This clearly shows the level of stupidity of the Minister of Tourism. Most if not all tourists will be here for less than 14 days. You can pull off maybe a couple of days trip at Atlantis or Bahamar or Sandals. But, once again they are not open. This is grossly insulting that our lives are being controlled by such colossal ignorance and incompetence.

In the statement, she didn't state the hiurs.worked on the street days. We're assuming 8 hours a day. If we look at the healthcare system, their salaries are low. That's why a lot of them take offers to work in the US in a heartbeat. Some professions you want people at their top form. If you're a banker or a lawyer or an accountant who at some point makes a mistake, the probability of someone dying at that instant is zero. If you're a healthcare personnel, like a doctor or nurse there is a high probability that an error can kill someone. So, given those odds, I wouldn't debate the system. Also, keep in mind the PHA has done a great job in screening over healthcare professionals. You may recall the nurses protesting years ago, if I recall correct, for health insurance. If that's accurate think about how crazy that is for someone to be exposed potentially to every disease known to mankind in their day to day performance of their job and not have healthcare coverage or inadequate healthcare coverage. This little country is a tough place to work in.

Be careful with "studies". You can present a study that says that typing your opinion here can have a negative impact on your life. People have presented studies that made some outrageous points in the past. Also, there would be studies that show a contradictory position.

When reading studies try to follow if it makes sense logically. This last one you referenced here, how do they confirm that a lockdown today will destroy years of a person's life. In order to actually determine future impact, you check persons years later not at the instant of the event.

He lied before. We could see from the numbers he wasn't telling the truth. After the disaster lockdown decision that he reversed hours later, he should have implemented this same weekend lockdown and earlier curfew hours. Just gross incompetence. Added to that people don't listen. Also, do we know with a certainty if the medical experts have a full picture on the spread. A lot of people are complying and a lot of places have protocols in place that they are following. So, we have to really dig into this to understand is it really as simple as following the prescribed measures. Could it be that some minute details people may disregard that is causing the issue?

Wild times! This stop, go, stop, go approach is dizzying. People need to co.ply as they're just making th ings harder for everyone. Also, the government needs to.make better decisions. That July 1st opening was not a good decision. I'm sure we didn't get much economic benefit from that but we sure got a lot of costs and problems after.

Now we go back again to discussing tourism when we don't have control over our situation. The large resorts are not opening now. So, why the rush? Also, how are we once again planning a reopening and don't have a plan for that reopening. It's bad enough we did that July 1st. Now we're going to repeat it. If anyone thinks there's a plan listen to the clear disconnect between the Ministrybof Health and the Ministry of Tourism. The Ministry did not consult the health officials. Then we're going to wonder weeks later why we're down the infamous creek.

It's not nice for the previous poster to label anyone "hood rat". Based on their username, looks like I need to change mine.

A person's economic situation doesn't translate to compliance or defiance of rules. Bain Town or Lyford Cay don't define behaviour.

Is that information useful? Saying a large percentage is workplace exposure isn't helpful. Is he removing police officers, doctors, nurses, etc. from thse figures? Shouldn't he provide a breakdown by sector such as retail, banking, construction, etc. By giving this level of detail it would be better to assess the situation. If you work in Wendy's for example, is the exposure to your coworkers that creates the issue ot your exposure to customers? The way he presented this seems quite useless. They need to provide data that clearly shows what's going on.

So, they are uncertain and Bahamar and Sandals are not in play anytime soon. But, the Minister is full speed ahead. Does he talk to the mega resorts before he makes his dumbass decisions? It's like the July reopening that didn't do squat for our economy but catapulted us into very high infection rates which results in less people wanting to come here when we open. This man is a colossal dumbass.
