There are buildings which have been closed and/or with revenue so little that they do not have enough to pay the property tax demands. Last year some had to borrow to pay which means paying back more over time than what has been coming in. Aside from that after being chased to pay the full amount and doing it with said borrowed funds a 50% relief was put in place. As there has been no uptick in business or rents in the downtown area, an accomodation must be made to provide some relief until we are back to receiving enough to cover costs - maintenance, insurance, business licences, NIB, utilities and on and on. Some understanding is necessary and those who have asked for and enquired as to some remedy should be answered and considered if anything is to survive. Downtown has been hit hard as anyone can see. Taking people to task to pay what they have not been able to make through this stagnation will not benefit anyone, and some grace must be granted - even more so for those to whom the 50% easement was not available after all that making an honest effort to responsibly do what we could to cover these demands.

Rubbish!

Wennergren's experimental farm in Andros near Fresh Creek which was making transitional crops that were always imported to be grown in our climate and soil structure, also the Hatchet Bay farms were taken away by the PLP government under Pindling and subsequently failed in miserable embarrassment. We would have been much farther along if left in the hands of the competent hands that knew what they were doing without political favour and at no public expense. It is sad to see the result of political screw ups and interference that contributes to the downfall of key industries.

The PLP has screwed up again! What about employees who work in restaurants, those who supply restaurants and those entering restaurants to ruin any enjoyment that might have been had by the patrons? I swear we must be the stupidest country in the world with the most stupid and blind governments.

Retaliation or neighbourhood Black Crab syndrome?

Duane Sands would be the ,most competent of all being considered. Ask Iram what happened to all of the donations of building supplies, generators etc. sent to Abaco and Grand Bahama after Dorian, How much was removed, borrowed, stolen and/or resold to the cost of the donors and the setback of the citizens. Kwasi is on a leash and Pintard writes good stories.

Darville is just as much a jackass as Minnis. I would give him two band aids for his mouth and one for his rump, same matter emits from both, just like Minnis!
