Boy - this country has more than its fair share of obstinate opinionated and uninformed idiots who cannot see past their own irritating selves - and that is not the government - it is the partyers and naysayers who flap their mouths with nonsensical theories which are not only unproven but are completely unsound.
This is off the main thread of this story, but is something people should know anyway - for the main part the only shops open in Nassau (like diamonds and emeralds etc) are owned by cruise ship companies and their owners. The rest (Bahamian businesses and property owners) cannot afford the rent or taxes and so are closed. Nassau town is a morgue for what once was. If people become overly dependent on these types of visitors and the supply stops, then this happens.
Done with these union mobsters. I'm keeping my pennies in my pocket rather than theirs and arguing where I have to for myself. They don't see me as anything but another soldier for them. I am going to save my money and go out on my own.
If not bound to, and if not wanted why consider. Just cancel. They have admitted their contracts to drill elsewhere - so say Go with God, but go and make your fortunes elsewhere if there are any fortunes to be made.
Obviously jokey you are not affected. We from the downtown ghost town cannot afford property taxes or insurances as we are not recognised as being in peril. I have sold what I can to hold an honest accounting for taxes and payments due. However, I have run out of money and leveraged myself past the hilt to accommodate these bills. I am already dry and dreading the next tax season. Insurances have been cancelled because of the downtown situation, taxes will also be unpaid because of no money coming in with which to pay.
Also talrussell, please learn to express your opinions in proper English so that they might be read and understood rather than summarily dismissed as the incoherent ramblings of an unsound mind.
It will be. Better than the alternative. Obviously you are not Bahamian or on the payroll of the cruise companies - or have not seen the starvation of downtown which would only be worsened by the cruise companies disgusting practice of stealing free will of their passengers and keeping all income for themselves. Nassau has to grow and regain some foothold. It will not happen under these mega cruise companies. Man the cannons!
