Let me get this correct Hon. Prime Minister...You said NO to the IMF? Why did you say no to the IMF
Was it.."I told the International Monetary Fund,” said Mr Christie, “do you think Perry Gladstone Christie, who next year would have had 40 consecutive years in politics and public life, who the people of the constituency he represented never ever allowed him to lose, I asked the International Monetary Fund, do you think I’m going to allow these young men like Halkitis and Khaalis Rolle sitting in the meeting with me to lose an election because I don’t question you on what you’re telling me I should do?"
like you said. But then again you say it's not about politics right? Your'e a politician, it's always about politics.
Wow! Not one response? Hmmm.....hey TalRussell where are you? I would love to hear you defend this? This is something that have been going on for years and it goes deeper that what is even written here. Most politicians don't give a crap until someone closed to them is a victim of crime, then and only then do they see the need to do something about the crime issue. He who feels it knows it, too bad the majority of people that feel it around here are the lower class..and yes we do have a lower class now. Just look around and you can see it for yourself but then again you may be too afraid to drive into some of those areas.
It would be very brazen of us to opine as to what should have been done and how it should have been done if we ourselves are not educators or close enough to educators to hear their daily cries as to the way business is conducted within the schools. Damn good teachers are held down by principles who are blinded by title and incapable and out of touch to do what is in the best interest of our schools. Programs are shoved aside, materials are needed and despite the claim of hundreds of thousands of dollars being spent to repair schools, some classrooms do not even have screens to keep insects from attacking students! And the audacity of a "minister of education" to tell teachers to show up or not get paid is a slap in the face. If the PM can seriously consider a new house of parliament, the lest that they can do is try to provide our educators with a work environment that will allow them growth, satisfaction and no fear of victimization all within reason.
It doesnt even matter. He will be back on the streets soon enough to shoot someone again.
Im no legal expert but if i take a gun and shoot someone, i doubt that in my mind im thinking that i only want to harm them "greviously". Last time i was out on the blocks i heard guys say "bhuy you wan dead aye?" "bhuy i'll kill you yah know" or "bhuy, you wan dead aye?". hence they should be charged with attempted murder and face repercussions that reflect the same.
But we have lawyers in parliament and they make and confuddle all of the laws. It would be ironic to have a person charged with murder to plead not guilty based on the premise that they intended to only harm the victim even if only "greviously"...after all in order to be charged with murder one must be proven to have intended to murder right?
This should be all about the treatment of people that came to our shores despite their illegal entry, there is still a level of decency that people should be treated with. What ever happened to " do unto others as you would have them do unto you" ?
Seriously TAL? Are you that much of a political sheep! Are you really one of the sheeple? Had the F.A. Minister initially said that we don't know what has happened, we will investigate and based on the finding we will take the appropriate course of action. Things may not have been so bad. But he he felt the need to say, nothing happened, we een do it! C'mon he should have had more common sense than that. His arrogance and his failure to realize that he may have erred isn't enough, he has to now refuse to admit his arrogance, despite the now insurmountable evidence that is pointing to the contrary of his statement.
You have a few points that I can agree with, however, understand that opposition isn't to oppose what is being done, it should be to ensure that what is being done is being done the correct way and in the best interest of the country. Do I feel as though we have competent Bahamians that the Governments should consult yes I do? To me it is ironic that we seek foreign consultation but somehow, when the foreign entities need a shell company they can find "qualified" Bahamians to front them. Bahamians that would have to have specialized experience in lets say....oil exploration.
@superuser...I am well aware as to who she is and what she did for the previous government. She clearly states that at every opportunity that she is given. Regardless of what her political alliance is, she has not stated any thing that is untrue. She does compare both administrations based on her own experience which you have to admit are completely different styles. I have read her blog, and seen her social media postings and though they strongly hint of political discord she is doing a job very similar to and official opposition! Perhaps you should legitimately defend the party of your choice using truths and relevant comparisons based on your personal experience. Until such time like i stated about TalRussell, give me a reply worth reading, please. We have very intelligent Bahamians who can see through the nonsense that is regurgitated daily by persons such as your self and sometime the contributing writer herself. Lets get away from being political and start being Bahamian!
It doesn't matter who writes it or what is written, as long as its not praising the current government TalRussell will have a problem with it. If his/her objections could contain something other than "red-shirt" this or "red-shirt" that, it might actually seem to be legitimate. I am really tired of the pro-political (and most often meaningless) rants. If your going to post something give me something with substance to read please!
