Why doesn't Bahamian Brewery sign up with a US liquor distributor and ship the beer to the US like Kalik does? I would much rather be drinking Sands in the states.
Lets keep our borders closed permanently. Bahamas is for Bahamians - Kick out all non-Bahamians. Stop using the USD as our pegged currency - in fact, stop using money all together. Create a centralized utopia like Cuba has. Dr. Minnis can ration out food and medicine and electricity to everyone and we can live a simple lifestyle.
Be like Sir Pindling and stop foreign home ownership in this country. That would drop property prices pretty quickly. Might as well take it one step further and have government take over foreign-owned hotels too. Lets stop pretending to want foreign investment. Lets be like our Cuban neighbors - they dont care about the world bank or the ease of doing business.
Finance Minister Turnquest needs help... The poor chap doesn't have a clue how to work with the World Bank. On a side note, his close friend and colleague, Dr Minnis, needs to put him on a diet (both a food and fiscal spending diet). He is looking quite large and they don't want the PLP getting the impression he is living too high on the hog!
