There is no plan - there has never been a plan.. Virus is going virus.. Seychelles is still cautionary tale...you can't rely just on vaccines...viral evolution is what it is..

In the US, varied strategies between states shows that there was no better outcome between states with Mask Mandates and those with out, those that closed schools and those that didn't nor those that imposed rigid lockdowns and those more open...Seasonality, antibodies, t-cell immunity, viral evolution.. shapes the curve - COIVD vaccination (until the tech improves) is comparitively risky temporary measure..

Ha you think vaccines will get you out of this - Seychelles!? And looks like the jury has to come back to Israel as daily case doubled in the month. (Can you spell seasonality and viral evolution) And India proved with 3% vaccines rate you get over curve quickly with 90% drop in cases in less than a month.. Any decision associated with covid risk assessment is inherently political - how dare you blame the citizens in any nation for what has been inflicted on them these last 16 months...

In fact vaccines don’t lower incidence rates (you still carry virus and can infected which is why they don’t want to test the vaccinated) they minimize (for how long we don’t know) the chances of hospitalization (which is slim already for 97% of the population) but are riskier than any other vaccine - EVER - with 7 times (literally) of more side effects then all other vaccines combined..VAERS recieved 48k side effects reports in 2019 for all vaccines .. in 21 (so far) it’s received over 300k for COVID vacs....the most serious of which is heart inflammation. What is most alarming about this that the push to vaccinate young adolescents is illogical. By the cdc own data 200 per 100k have been hospitalized after covid shots and yet but only 50 per 100k have ever been hospitalized of the disease!! Yet blind faith and push to universally vaccinated populations borders on the sinister...for the elderly/sick benefit is greater than the risk ybut for young and healthy it’s a unnecessary risk.. and freedoms of the young (along with old) are bring eroded and bordering on bring coerced into taking that risk...

> Earlier this month, Mr Wells estimated that 120,000 people need to be vaccinated in order for the nation to”be in a good place”.

Well it's likely that the true number of cases given the financial and social consequences of testing positive...

> Asked yesterday if people who have been infected with COVID-19 previously will be taken into consideration, he said: “Obviously we are going to take those individuals into consideration as well because they are a part of the overall national profile as individuals who would have received vaccinations, who would have developed antibodies against COVID-19 but we also have a very large part of the Bahamian populace who would have been exposed to COVID.

Ah..good so antibody testing program? Antibody passports? how exactly do you intend to consider this sizeable portion of the populace?

> As the Minnis administration continues its vaccination push, there are mounting concerns about the Delta variant being in the country, a strain which is highly transmissible and spreading fast around the world.

What you mean to say is - oh s**t the vaccine they bought only has 10% efficacy against variants and they told everyone they could get their freedom back if they take the shot...but now it doesn't matter cases will go up on the next seasonable wave...wait they've thought of that already - let's not test anybody thats been fully vaccinated!! Problem solved - yay!!!!

Hey proud did you take a look at the vaccine effectiveness in the Seychelles.. the most heavily vaccinated country on the planet.. give you a hint: cases are going through the roof..so glad you did your research...

ps. az has a efficacy of 62% - 70% and 10% against other variants...so good luck with that blind faith in vaccines...

Fully vaccinated here but I wouldn't play Russian roulette with my kids on untested drugs...even the WHO is stepping formally advising that people under 18 shouldn't get COVID 19 vaccine..

https://www.who.int/emergencies/disease…

.oops sorry we rushed it through..it's mostly younger people that have severe heart inflammation to the point were CDC is having an emergency meeting to discuss...18 countries have banned AZ...oops maybe we should have had a more thorough trial process before dangling personal freedoms in return for the needle..Proud and loud and willing to sacrifice the young...nice

Diet, obesity easier to regulate if 'public health' is the true motivation of policy. Once you start stepping on personal freedoms its easy to do so. The only apple/orange difference is the fact that the science around obesity,CVD and diet is clear - there is a wealth evidence supporting what the correct choices should be...the same cannot be said of the health protocols employed by many governments across the globe..

Saw this..Average age of mortality from covid in the high 70s and low 80s (in line with life expectancy)... If death from young healthy people keeps happening Minnis and those who coerce vaccination will have to answer the uncomfortable question of how many is too many...? How many young people (limited risk of death from covid) with lifetime ahead of them will Health officials sacrifice to give those who die primarily because something is already killing them a few more months...

Top ten leading causes of death over 12 months in 2014 -- 667 related to cardio vascular disease and/or poor diet...

12 months of COVID in (April 1st 2020- April 1st 2021) - 188 deaths..(And thats with MOH earnestly looking for and mislabeling covid deaths...under WHO directives)..

Dr Forbes when are you going to be worried about fried chicken and lack of exercise...? It astounding how medical community has complete blinders on while evaluating comparative risk... ultimately you're more than 3-4 times more likely to die of heart disease than of covid...and those that are already struggling cardiac diseases and diabetes are more likely to perish of covid... In fact 78% of the deaths and hospitalisation in the USA were clinically obese..The Healthy and the young just don't really have much worry about when it comes to this virus..

Ultimately the Bahamian vaccination program is a waste of time...

The Vaccine The Bahamas has access to does not provide much protection against variants - however these variants are not necessarily more deadly with a similar 99.8% survival rate original COVID 19 strain. Astra Zeneca has about 10% efficacy rate again SA and Indian Variants...

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/n…

AZ efficacy rate against COVID is more generally between 62%-70%. As efficacy rates goes down the threshold of vaccinated persons needed for HIT goes up. MOH target of 70% does not take this into consideration. Ultimately with AZ only a 100% vaccination rate would stand half chance against a singular strain of COVID 19....

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a…

There is a growing evidence that risk benefit of vaccines for young persons is waning with numerous countries ditch the jab those under 50. Italy is the most recent of them with a young 18 year old woman dying of a blood clot, last week.

https://www.aa.com.tr/en/health/italy-b…

A free antibody testing program would be more effective at determining those that innate (and now proven to be more enduring) natural immunity. Actual infection rates is likely to be x10 the confirmed case count of 12k...In other words possible 120k have had covid and have natural immunity...If the government wants to set a 70% threshold to take their foot of necks of Bahamians they should change the Goal post to 70% of the at risk population...the elderly..the obese...those with underlying conditions...and move on..
