OPPOSITION Leader Michael Pintard is demanding the government explain why it is not renewing the contract of Royal Bahamas Defence Force Commodore Raymond King, saying many are surprised by the decision to end his tenure at five years.

“He’s still a relatively young man, and we would be interested in finding out what was the government’s motivation for the course of action since it does appear that he has a lot more to offer to the organisation, and we would wait to hear what that explanation is,” Mr Pintard said.

Director of communications in the Office of the Prime Minister Latrae Rahming told The Tribune last week that a successor to Commodore King will be announced within two to three weeks.

Commodore King began acting in the role in October 2019 under the Minnis administration and was confirmed the following year. He succeeded Tellis Bethel.

Mr Pintard said he hopes any new posting given to Mr King will allow him to continue serving the country and stressed the need for a seamless transition period to brief and guide his successor.

Everything here is politics.
Not one in government, it seems, has an iota of concern for the Bahamian people.
How do politicians become rich in office?
There is not one educated person I talk to that doesn't say, "This is the worst it's ever been".
Why aren't our educated and decent children returning home?
Is it lack of jobs?
Or, the idea that brains have no standing in this country.
The bottom line for moving up the political ladder seems to be, How Low Can You Go?
It doesn't matter what is going on in the rest of the world. Our job is right here in front of us.
The present PLP administration is destroying any hope for a Bahamian future.
Smart parents are telling their kids to leave these shores, and not come home.
Any real educated arguments countering this point of view?
No real leaders in this country. Only chubby, selfish, ugly politicians.

So right on. Since the birth of the nation, it's a known fact among real Bahamians that if you are not a supporter of the current government, your government job is in Jeopardy for five years. The right person to do the job and make progress for our nation is out of the reality and instead prioritize the employment unqualified political party members. T
his circle is repeated every five years. Why do we the need to question why our nation is stuck in stagnation and corruption.

Coincidence or no?
The former Bahamian officials being held in the US on drug and weapons smuggling as well as human trafficking charges declared a month ago they’d trade information for a plea deal to lessen their prison time.
Seems long enough to drop some names!
