Bahamasair has confirmed an incident involving a flight attendant at Cap-Haïtien International Airport in Haiti on March 1.
The airline stated that it is taking the matter seriously and has launched an internal review while cooperating with Haitian authorities, the Royal Bahamas Police Force, and local Interpol.
Reports indicate that the flight attendant allegedly escaped and returned to The Bahamas before authorities could detain them. The circumstances surrounding the detention and escape remain unclear.
Bahamasair previously suspended flights to the country in late 2024 due to gunfire incidents at Port-au-Prince’s airport, which injured crew members from other airlines. While flights to Cap-Haïtien resumed, the airline said it continues to monitor the situation closely.
Bahamasair has assured the public that stringent security protocols remain in place and that further updates will be provided once more information is available.

Am I missing something here? The flight attendant escaped?
Why would a Bahamasair flight attendant escape?

Lol. Story is she handed money to someone in Haiti. I'd suspect this isnt the first time. The question is who paid her to hand the money over and for what purpose? How much does a migrant voyage cost per person? How much would 100,000 cover? If only we had ethical investigations all could be answered.

So she had $100,000 undeclared? Sounds like the sort of behaviour to be expected from a gubmint or State Employed worker. Sigh.

I would believe that news like this involving Bahamians in other countries of concern should be investigated and edited to ensure readership clear understanding.
One would be lead to believe that this person, committed a crime in another country and fled (escaped) to avoid detention by the country's local and international authorities. if there is knowledge of a detention order being issued, the order will have to state the reason for the detention.
Having had some previous involvement in the then procedures of newsprint, every story to be published went through an editing process. Apparently not the case anymore??
