You get what you wish (vote) for. It is inconceivable to me that the people that voted he PLP back in did not forsee the many grievances that would follow. Just think, we have approximately 4 years and 4 months of this left!

This is a political tactic by the PLP to diffuse the information about the raise that their Ministers were given. I have a source that is extremely reliable within the Treasury who assures me that the $6,000 dollar raise for the PLP junior ministers was not a clerical error. The people of the Bahamas need to be told the truth.

Cable Bahamas is trying to keep the lion share of the market because they know that alot of people will switch to avoid the fees they keep charging you each day, not each month, each day. Check your Bill View bill each day and you will see another charge for this or that. They are robbing the Bahamian people blind and still want you to pay your bill if they turn you off!

The question now remains: If this system of taxation is implemented does that mean Customs will cease to charge for imported goods and if they are not will be paying an additional tax on an item already taxed.

Difference Between Sales Tax and VAT

The main difference between the two types of taxes is that sales tax is a direct tax, while VAT is indirect. When purchasing something, the consumer easily detects the sales tax. When the receipt is examined, there is a line separating the cost of the item and the sales tax on it. On the other hand, VAT is less transparent when buying products since the effects are wrapped up in the product’s purchase price.

If reviewing taxing I do not think that VAT should be considered because companies will put their spin on what the cost should be and more often than not it will be outrageously high.
