(Sigh). Then again, I should had noticed the username, then I wouldn't be surprised at all.

You know, both sides need to work together at this issue. Cutting ties and insulting them isn't going to help, it's actually putting us backwards if that was the case.

Aegeaon says...

Well, it's not going to work that way. For once, not all people that reviews and uses guns on media platforms are bad guys. They're complaining that they are being poorly represented, and they don't fit the description of crazy, redneck Americans. Even worse, banning guns will make the black market guns more lucrative and increase illegal sales dramatically. In most democratic major cities in the US, they all suffer the case with having the most concentrated criminal organizations residing in New York, Chicago, Miami and Los Angeles. I'm not hitting out on liberals/democrats here, but that's the truth. The more rural states seems to have a different issue with crime, but not as nearly rampant and destructive as with the major cities nowadays.

Simple terms, gun control has been done a million times, and it doesn't work.

The thing is.. We're willing to help young people to are willing to fight against crime, but the problem is that there's too few young Bahamian adults left on the islands. Plus the community solution to end these street gangs is ineffective. The gangs will always win over the hearts and minds of the youth who are at a economic disadvantage, because the fame, money and drugs outweigh the risks.

Aegeaon says...

No, but when those young Bahamian men commit a serious crime, they lose all respect for life and other valuable moral senses. How did we allow nearly 60 gangs to function without the law enforcement lifting a single finger about it. If they cared about our tourism project, the criminals would be controlled effectively and the 52 gangs will get reduced to below 20 of them. There are so many things that we can only deflect blame on, but this is on us,

(Sigh). What has this country gone to? The dogs?

You know what happened when this crap was legalized? Too many families became broke and even homeless, the intelligence of our people has gotten even worse, money laundering is still laundering and extortion. The PLP made it worse for investors thanks to the Bahama/Panama Papers leak, and with these webshops, and that previous government stole money from the US and kept it to themselves or on the webshop kingpins instead of using the money properly for social development. No matter what it is, it's still our fault.

Again, no one seems to speak about the Bahamas, who allowed the Mexicans and the rest of the drug cartel world to bribe and use drug and weapon smuggling to be the staple of Bahamian life, and no one would be severely punished for murder at all. While the police and Navy is pacified, and the US lied to constantly when they feel actually worried, preventing any actions from taking place. The bloodbath will go on until thousands of gangsters are locked up for the thousands of Bahamians slain by the gangs over the years.

Aegeaon says...

Then again, the Bahamas keeps lying to the rest of the world to keep up money laundering, and it works foolishly. While the country keeps going backwards and into more crooked things. The US knows how bad the PLP administration was at transparency with the VAT money going missing, so this is yet another punishment for bad government practices.

So. what can we do about it? Can't just sit back and let those gangbangers kill us without judgement, and trying to resolve matters peacefully failed with walkabouts and youth intervention programs. Those two usually work when the gang presence is at a lower level, and doing those methods will fail regardless because the rewards of being a gangster, prostitute or drug dealer within a gang is better than being an honest citizen and outweighs the risks associated with the job.

No one seems to understand that there's the actions of a few Americans that ruins the entire country.

Aegeaon says...

John, I think you're not up to what truth has to offer. Despite the efforts of the few Americans that try to give the US a bad name. America has everything at their military and police disposal to control and contain an issue with criminals or terrorist cells. If only those idiots and stupid political games were to stop messing around, they can have the potential to clean up a town or even help make a city more safer for a time.

What about us? Even without school mass shootings, allowing 52 gangs to still breathe and kill Bahamians for sport is a disgrace. Allowing the police force to be completely outdated and disarmed is a complete disregard for law and safety. The Defense Force is completely pacified, and ordered to do so even as the criminals are clearly leading a bloody victory. Both agencies are severely outdated, as they still refuse to get even newer personal gear or more armored vehicles or transport aircraft. Thanks to poor customs, criminals have cutting-edge gear.

This is utter trash at its best, and absolutely horrible, shameful and inept at its worst. Why not put 480 million dollars or higher in the course of a couple of years in upgrading both agencies so they can effectively combat the threat. At any time, those gangs can grow into terrorists and cartels, and once we get around that point, it's too late to do anything but slow them down, not contain the issue.
