Also, the cayman islands actually leveraged their position as a british oversees territory and sit at the table for advisories and give their own input to allow them to maneuver.

This was probably in place before they gained office. I saw no mention of this construction in their budget.

I don't see what the big deal is. Welcome to what the first world has always had in place. This seems more common sense than anything.

Do a deal where local community gets training (for free), Disney is to work on technology/skill sharing with the University of the Bahamas AND Disney should add to the power grid of Eleuthera. Also, VAT should be charged at the POS. We need to end the practice of exempting tourists at the border. If more people pay into it, then the more government revenue and the increased likelihood that we can decrease the current 12% tax rate.

Other than that, I see no problem with this project, unless they conduct themselves similar to the PRC.

We are putting up the money with inflated bills. BPL still has a titanic's amount of debt that must be paid as well.

This is a good article, but it means nothing when talking about the civil service or other places of employment where problematic employees have tenure (which fanatical unions).

The fact that government ministries usually shut down half day on Fridays or right before a holiday should tell you something.

The Bahamas has a 3 party system. The PLP, the FNM and the Civil Service.
