unchristian for terminating you? looooooool

gtfoh with that mess. As long as they followed the law and regulations on this regard it's perfectly normal. It's never good news to lose a job, however, do not get a sense of entitlement... this is capitalism after all.

I hope they find employment and have adequate savings.

I support the idea of unions, however how our Unions have shaped up? Never support that. They are nothing but slush funds for high paying salaries for executives and money to steal and mismanage. But that doesn't even bother me as much as the Taxi Cab Union and their influence on Taxi/Bus plate monopolies. Id' burn that entire system down to the ground and institute proper legislation and regulation. Unions have become just like our government, fat off their asses on our money, ineffective and complete wastes of time. While all unions may not fit that bill, there are several that wear that cap with pride as they collect off your paycheques every month.

your Math is a bit off my friend. The Pointe and Bahamar will not employ some 10,000 persons. take into consideration that youth unemployment in the country sits at above 31%...in 2015. Add another 3,000 to that since summer of this year for high school graduates. The targeted amount of employed can not be expected to exceed 2,000 -3,200 and even then that's a high estimate. Also add the students who will be graduating for Summer 2017 to that statistic and it tells a different story.

All of that and we haven't even touched the perilous situation in Grand Bahama.

While I am glad some persons will be able to gain employment, I highly doubt it will be enough to reverse the damage done under this administration in the eyes of the people.

Speaking of Unions... we need to abolish the mafia-like Taxi Cab union. The monopoly by select families on Taxi/Bus plates needs to die.

BPL's job is to restructure and manage operations.
not invest in better equipment,NOT magically fix the pre-existing ailments with power generation. That requires a capitol investment by government/private sector to diversify or increase the Corporations power generation capacity. Izmaralian offered to build his own power plant with Bahamar knowing that BEC would be unable to keep up with the Capitals growing demand for electricity. Yet he was denied, this entire fiasco was predictable 20 freaking years ago.

To cover their asses the government brought on Power Secure to give a new face to blame for successive administration abysmal failure to address the issue. Also, Fred Ramsey? He wasn't the only one and notice the entire thing just blew over. Doesn't matter anyway, they would just Nolle it.

The Bahamian government is just historically a morally bankrupt collection of institutions and bendable regulations for whomever they deem worthy. We don't need reform, we need Summary executions, civil forfeiture of ill-gotten gains and exile from the country in order to see change. But even after you drain the swamp you must still fix the system through legislation to avoid us ever repeating this again.

Crooked crock of sh8!

Please oh please someone make this man and all of his ilk disappear into obscurity!

They can't 'lock-up' this prolific armed robber. They will simply throw a Nolle on his case.

Alex_Charles says...

We need summary executions.
Any attempt at justice will simply get a Nolle

Mr. Henfield has the same problem that many who are thrust into public life suffer from. You cannot respond to every piece of criticism that is throw at you by the political elite and their operatives. Not even just them, but those who simply disagree with you.

The best thing to ignore them entirely and all of your responses should be vetted. Everything you say carries weight now, and the more you speak loosely or out of frustration against the powers that be, the more ammunition they have to paint you as irrational. Ignore them and keep pushing.
