Are we not paying power secure some $16million a year to manage our plant? Bollocks, thats a complete waste go bloody money. We should have invest $16million on a load for either newer generators or renewable sources. Diversifying the grid is a big help not only to the quality of life but also the economy and ease of doing business.

Power Secure is really putting duct-tape over a pot hole and saying it's fixed

I'm a bit confused here. was it that the Embassy told people how to vote? or did they link up with the college to have a voter registration drive?

The drive, to my understanding, was not headed by the embassy and UB's SGA had a heavy hand to play in it. Now I wasn't there to see what was happening, so there may be lots of details that I am unaware of.

Problems with National service are many. Matriculation into the service cannot be the same across the board, because education is not the same across the board in the country... leading me to believe those pushed into "service" will mostly contain those who "passed true" Highschool. Also 'gainful employment' is what exactly? the private sector? who's gonna pay for that? Is it in the Public sector? If so, where is the money coming from for that? We are not in the fiscal and economic situation to have the treasury purse employ that many people.

Well of course unless you guys proposing it are willing to pay more in taxes.

The plan is good from the textbook sense, in practicality it's ludicrous and asinine.
You want to hold someone accountable? How about the parents that raise these kids? Why are we not investing in that?

don't put a bandaid on a Cholera outbreak. You treat the patient and kill the source to prevent it from happening again. Obviously a ton of shit is in the water that no one wants to address. Crime and youth unemployment are only symptoms of an outbreak.

The Central Bank is either complicit or the rumor of their "authority" being usurped but the gaming board and the other "regulatory" bodies that manage the payday loans and Bahamian 'western union' clones are true.

I am positive the Central bank is fully aware of the underground banking system we have within the numbers industry.

Fiscal conservatism. sequesters, cutting the size of the civil service, diversification of the economy, systems competition, investing in the power grid. All things I won't see in my lifetime. We are really run by a cage of jackasses that have done nothing but given this country the largest deficits and the largest budgets in Bahamian history.

Through all the spending the FNM did in the previous years from 2007-2012 the deficit of 2 years under this administration is more than 5 years under the Ingraham cabinet. We have literally just gotten back our 2008 economy in 2016 and the budget is more than 2 times the size it was in 2008 with 3 times the deficit. We have too much goddamn wastage and projects where the impact on the economy is minimal.

Cut backs don't sound sexy and they are a hard political sell, but if we don't we will lose much more than we can afford.

But... what is Minnis' plan? We KNOW this administration is completely inept and paralyzed in the fight against crime. Now is Minnis' chance to show his party's policy on the issue. Give us a bloody alternative for fuck sake. Instead of pointing out painfully obvious problems how about becoming more solutions oriented?

Otherwise, Minnis is going to be sitting on the minority side of the house again. But considering his contracts and dealings with the PHA, I suppose he wouldn't care either way. I wish I had $7,000 a month coming in from the government renting my building.

oil Prices jumped 7% today and are expect to go up as the OPEC Cartel are cutting production. The cost WILL go up on the fuel Surcharge if this trend continues.
