And yet it is illegal for innocent, productive, law abiding members of society to protect themselves. The govt is forcing us to sit around waiting to be victims without any means of protection for ourselves or our families.

Start providing the populous with the same tools all of the criminals seem to be able to use, and this shit would stop real quick.

Taxis have gone the way of the VHS tape in NYC, Ubers and Lyfts are everywhere now.

I'll take that to mean "In which country do they operate like this?"

And to that I'll answer, pretty much anywhere that isn't a banana republic.

There should be as many taxi plates as people want. There is no limit on the number of grocery stores that can open up. No limit on the number of electricians, no limit on the number of plumbers. Why should taxi drivers get special treatment? Competition is good for everyone.

How is this man in a position of power?

Maybe they should ask *their* govt for assistance, instead of asking *our* govt for assistance?

Why is this guy still attempting to be relevant? He needs to go quietly in to the shadows and avoid being seen in public. His term as Prime Minister was an epic failure. Possibly the worst leader The Bahamas has ever seen.
