The information about those boat's purchases is right there in the ministry of finance and the cabinet office.That information was leaked to the Tribune and Punch by an FNM operative.The agent in this matter lives right in Barbados.The Tribune nor the Punch did not attempt to interview him.
He does a lot of procurement work for governments in the eastern caribbean .Damen Shipyards the builders of those vessels was selected by a committee of Defence force officers.
The Minnis government told the Dutch investigators ,they saw no wrong -doing in the purchase of those vessels.But they won't say that publicly.That is why the Guardian never bothered to carry this story.Every thing is a game in this country.
The government pushed to reopen for July 1st as it was the start of it's new fiscal year.The resurgence of COV-19 will put a big dent in their fiscal position and people's personal finances.
Persons are hanging on by a thread.Yet a lot of persons who live in their bubbles here on New Providence don't seem to know that tourism is basically our only source of foreign exchange. Our main source of stop-over tourists is the US market.Europeans and Canadians visit other islands in the Caribbean more than the Bahamas.
Very true.It is typical of the elites here in the Bahamas.There are some deeply rooted socio-economic issues here in the Bahamas that is making home ownership more difficult for the average bahamian. The elites here have not addressed them and have not developed any policies to solve them.

Mike Foster is a competent architect,he is no slouch. Woslee is no fly by night construction firm.The FNM government stopped work on that stadium for over a year.That drove the completion cost up.
That stadium if managed properly once completed,can be a valuable asset.But some Bahamians don't understand the power and business of sports.They mainly know political propaganda.
It was recommended in 1963 that the Bahamas set up a land registry.
That proposal was not acted on.The powers that be have benefited from this system the way it is.It is one of the reasons why the Bahamas is in the position it is when it comes to the ease of doing business.
Just a next example of the resistance to putting in place,sensible progressive policies.
The vat was being implemented with either party.That was one of the ideas being pushed by international agencies.The Bahamas was one of the last countries in this region to implement the vat.And still not member of the WTO.
Rest in peace.An unsung hero.A superb athlete and coach.
Per capita,this country has produced a tremendous amount of world-class athletes.This country has done a poor job both honoring them and documenting their achievements.
