Hutchison Whampoa are not thieves. They are simply hard and ruthless business people.Let get this straight, that firm did not come to the Bahamas because they love bahamians. They came to make money. They lost quite a bit of money with the Our Lucaya hotel properties. They are deterome of their losses.mined to recoup s
First,my condolences to the family of the man killed in this latest accident on that highway.I know four previous persons struck down and killed on the TWD highway. That highway is not properly lighted and needs to be lighted. The pedestrian crossings needs to be repainted. There should be PDA explaining and showing road safety issues on the various medias. I commend the FNM government with their amendments to the Road Safety Act.This will bring some sense oof order to our streets. This should been done years ago. However the ministry of works under successive governments PLP and FNM, have been lack, and down right lousy in road lighting, markings and maintenance issues.
The same way Dr,Minnis spoke out against the interception of communication bill when in opposition. He turned around and passed a worst version of it into law when he became pm. Politicians do that all the time in the Bahamas,
A government of contradictions.A year ago this government passed the commercial enterprise bill. Now the PM is saying too much work permits are being issued.
Education is not valued in the Bahamas because you can make a good living in this economy without being highly educated. I read this saying by the late Paul Adderley. Desmond Bannister told Dr.Ian Strachan this on a tv show.Athletics and education are not as important in the Bahamas as it is other caribbean islands because of the structure of our economy. That is the view of many persons in this country.
This stadium project was botched by the PLP government. The project was overly ambitious and poorly managed. However this information being released at this moment by Minister Bannister is simply a deflection.
On the morning blend talk show on guardian radio on Thursday May 31st,2018,a tweet was read by the host. This was the day after the budget was first presented in parliament. The person said in the tweet, this is a budget prepared by someone who does not understand economics. the person will do what they do best, campaign. The person in that tweet seem to have a very intimate knowledge of persons involved in this budget preparation. I thought that was harsh, but today what was said has come true.
This is the second major revenue measure, the government is having problems with. They have not said what they have lost what the revisions in their property tax.
