The island of New Providence needed a unified public transportation from at least the 1960's.This country is so backwards in many ways.I blame the selfish ,short-sighed politicians.
A lot of Turnquest' arguments don't make sense.I support their attempt to balance the budget. But I don''t think it is feasible to do within three years. He also can't say of better yet know the impact of this attempt on the economy.

They should have never disbanded the revenue enhancement unit at inland revenue. They need to curtail recurrent expenditure. They need to sell or close some government corporations. They need to privatize some services provided by government. Example residential waste management.Have civil servants contribute to their pension .Have a very focused effort to collect real property tax.Johnson's appointment as FS should never have been done.
In the westminister system of government, cabinet ministers resign if they are opposed to a policy of their government. The late Carlton Francis did that over the question of casino gambling. These parliament secretaries are junior cabinet ministers.
Bahamians have to work to make things better in this country.Canada in contrast to the US under Trump is more open to emigrants.I know of a family who is moving to Canada.Quite a number pf bahamians are interested in moving there. The US is not the only option.
An electrical contractor said this on a talk show a while back. He had a conversation with a Florida based supplier. He said the Bahamas seem to be behind on energy conservation. The Bahamas is also at the bottom in the region in development of renewables.
