Rumors going around social media just now that Stuart Cove's has a new charter concept running out of the harbor and does baited shark dives in the vicinity of Rose Island. May be completely false, but that is what is circulating at the moment.
50% chance...what an idiotic statement. Guess I am beating the odds as I have swum with sharks hundreds of times. As stated in the article, assuming there are no added circumstances, such as fish cleaning, spearing, chumming of waters, etc, the sharks in these waters will recognize you are not their food group and leave you alone. Get blood in that water though and the game and odds most definitely change and NOT in your favour.
Price controlling fresh produce is the most daft idea they have ever come up. Produce prices fluctuate like crazy depending on crops and seasons. Add into that the overhead you need to compensate for spoilage and write offs of the produce...just can't be done with price control.
Price controlled fresh produce and highly perishable items is VERY risky. All too often the local retailer of that produce have massive loses due to product spoilage, and it is the margins they have at the moment that allow that fresh produce to remain on the table as a viable import. If you lock down percentage markups on those items, many retailers will just stop selling the fresh produce altogether and I don't think that is the desired end result behind this initiative.
Not to worry...once NHI gets going, that nice cooshy medical insurance plan you have at the moment disappears and you need to depend on the guvment dem for ya health!
The big problem here is that if you outlaw it, all that is going to happen is that it drops off the radar and gets swept back under the rug so people can deny that any of this foolishness goes on in the first place. I agree...minors should be protected, but what are the other implications there for situations like this being concealed and buried and people not seeing the true side to our social ills?
