Well that's the thing, the election declarations, are more of a formality, they don't really go into any great depth and accuracy is probably secondary...the annual ones for the disclosure are far more detailed and scrutinized and I believe can be audited if deemed necessary...still trying to figure it out myself, but that's what I've been picking up on in various articles and blogs...
I think it's two separate issues Tal...in order to run for the election, you need to make a financial declaration...that's different and far simpler than the level of financial details the annual disclosures require. That clarification came up a couple weeks ago I believe, maybe in another news article.
Rome wasn't built in a day Tal...they are still trying to come to grips with the true and dire financial situation the country is in before they can fulfill on some of those tax breaks. you can't go taking VAT off of things though, it's best to drop the duty, which will have the knock on effect of dropping the price in relation to VAT. VAT needs to stay a flat fee across the board or people start to find loopholes and cheat the tax.
This is good!! We need to get that tie in back into the grid finalized and encourage people to start taking some of the load off of BPL and the tired generators.
My big problem there is we have an under utilized national stadium here in Nassau as it is...are you planning on spending money on infrastructure up in Freeport to then end up using our stadium even less down here? While we are at it...get Road Traffic sorted out and get them the heck out of that stadium and use it for the purpose it was intended!!
