While the storm was tragic and the damage is real...because Bahamians are so slack that they do not insure their property, now I as a taxpayer, who DOES have insurance...need to pay with my tax dollars to build someone a home...just doesn't seem quite right...
I think there is enough satellite imagery and other information from NHC and other agencies that yes...of course, anybody with a bit of knowledge in how to read these globally ready images and reports can give residents ample warning...they just elect not to gather as much information as they can to make the proper educated decision...case in point...shutting down Nassau ahead of the storm.
I'm thinking that the 'NEMA Conference' was held long before the storm...could have been at the start of Hurricane Season. I still agree that there was a MAJOR failure in the system. Also...as has been stated in the other stories and blogs, the Radar coverage does not extend far enough to make the radar a scapegoat...it's just a distracting story at the moment for people trying to gain some political ground.
From the pics I've seen, it's not a garbage truck I am familiar with...but I am not a Westie...truck is a solid orange...sort of...between the unkempt body work...no clear signage that is readable from the picture quality. Does NOT look like any of the usual suspects like BahamasWaste, ImPac or WasteNot...some smaller company who appear to not look after their trucks...just saying...
Yeap...and knowing how these power trip government people go (on both sides) this artist will likely get victimized like CRAZY for 'speaking' his mind through his art. It's a sad world we live in.
