The twisting interpretations and special exemptions that are permitting certain businesses to sell clearly non-essential products is undermining and prolonging this whole curfew/lock down effort, as clearly their are businessmen and women out there that value a couple of dollars more than even their own family’s health and lives, much less the health and lives of others. Bottom line is Govt. needs to address the nonsense going on ASAP, as the same Rules must apply to ALL, “essential” businesses ONLY, all others stay home just like everyone else so we can ALL re-Open once it is safe to do so!

Very sad ... in many ways he was the quite visible “heart and soul” of our City ... RIP.

This is a simple case of the “haves” vs the “have nots” and all the PM was getting at is that many of these “have nots” made the “haves” and did not inherit a business like Mr. Myers or live in Gated Communities like him and the Partners of Graham Thompson and McKiiney Bancroft ... that’s it, just in his words “be humane”, nothing more ... forgo your Country Club Memberships and perhaps unlike Nancy Pelosi, even give up Ice Cream ... that’s all ... at least until we get through this, then of course you are free to let capitalism rein again!

No Power since 1st September ... coming up on 8 months and counting ... and this ain’t Ragged Island, rather the No. 2 contributor to the Public Treasury ... nearing time for Bannister and all others connected with recovery effort to resign ... not in shame, rather disgrace with a life ban on ever holding Public Office again!

Just remember who came to the savior of the people of Abaco via Coast Guard using military assets ... less than 6 months ago!

Our biggest issues in pulling ourselves out of this mess entail inherent dishonesty, poor work ethic and a “D” average work force ... which together with a historical lack of accessible capital make solutions from the very few entrepreneurial brains extremely hard to come up with, much less implement.

Something not ringing true with this Story! There is simply no way the US would jeopardize their relationship with us, much less their various interests in this Country (Autec, Coast Guard, DEA, Embassy, etc. not to mention Private Investments) over something so petty.

Baha10 says...

Come on Man ... “Asue” ... seriously ... and people thought you might be a candidate for future Minister of Finance!?! How about cut dead weight from the Public Sector by 30 to 40% combined with everyone taking a pay cut of the same percentage so both our Country and those Businesses that are prepared to try and continue at least stand a chance of being able to survive? Those that are focused on productivity and customer satisfaction will eventually be rewarded financially for their sacrifices and our Society will be all the better for appreciating that not only hard work, but enduring hardship, taking risk and indeed, enduring “much” stress are all keys to being financially secure.

Baha10 says...

The Minister should be applauded for his candor, not criticized for his honesty in conveying the new reality facing each and everyone of us. Unfortunately, too many of us would prefer to not face reality and live in a sugarcoated world. Sorry, but this reality is just that ... reality!
