One can only assume Bannister is among the first Bahamians stuck abroad to be repatriated as he appears completely disconnected from reality. The Country has had years to address infrastructural issues, but instead squandered millions on pointless Projects such as the many miles of beautifully paved road to no where in North Andros, indeed better than any anywhere else in The Bahamas. Instead, pleas focus on what should be your main concern, namely BPL, which is the primary reason Bahamians are broke today ... and if you have not read the News ... Oil is practically now free”, so there should be no more need for surcharges on already inflated electricity bills.

Given that it would appear the Appeasement Legislation of the past 20 years has had no effect on avoiding Black Listing and merely only served to erode whatever competitive advantage we might have had as regards other Jurisdictions, it would seem the most prudent course would be to simply “re-set” our position by repealing all Appeasement Legislation and start acting in the best interests of The Bahamas, as indeed the EU is doing as regards themselves.

It is now abundantly obvious that 20 years of compliance to appease in an effort to ward off the underlying threat off loss of business was akin to not only going down a rabbit hole with no end in sight, but worse has resulted in the very loss of business nonetheless through the loss of numerous Banks that cooperation was supposed to prevent thereby leaving the second pillar of our already fragile economy devastated ... and what if we had not embarked on this journey 20 years ago, would we be any worse off today?!?

... and this is merely the latest example in our Post Independence Era of why truly GOOD and HONEST educated Bahamians with much to offer the Country decline (sorry refuse) to enter the Black Crab Ring of Bahamian Politics ... March on Bahamas ... March on ...

On behalf of ALL Abaconians ... thank you ... Rotary for actually “doing” as opposed to “talking” ... and the placement at “Treasure Cay” is appropriate given it was the location of the 1st Rotary Club established in Abaco, which used to meet at the (once “pride of the Caribbean”) Hotel, unfortunately demolished in the 80’s and most regrettably never rebuilt with the consequential effect that Treasure Cay has languished ever since in desperate need of re-birth.

The twisting interpretations and special exemptions that are permitting certain businesses to sell clearly non-essential products is undermining and prolonging this whole curfew/lock down effort, as clearly their are businessmen and women out there that value a couple of dollars more than even their own family’s health and lives, much less the health and lives of others. Bottom line is Govt. needs to address the nonsense going on ASAP, as the same Rules must apply to ALL, “essential” businesses ONLY, all others stay home just like everyone else so we can ALL re-Open once it is safe to do so!

Very sad ... in many ways he was the quite visible “heart and soul” of our City ... RIP.

This is a simple case of the “haves” vs the “have nots” and all the PM was getting at is that many of these “have nots” made the “haves” and did not inherit a business like Mr. Myers or live in Gated Communities like him and the Partners of Graham Thompson and McKiiney Bancroft ... that’s it, just in his words “be humane”, nothing more ... forgo your Country Club Memberships and perhaps unlike Nancy Pelosi, even give up Ice Cream ... that’s all ... at least until we get through this, then of course you are free to let capitalism rein again!
