Unbelievable, just read CNN Article where he goes on to say He has "nothing to look forward too"! How the mighty have fallen. As for "Albany", the coverage has been disastrous, with last year Winner Jordon Spieth just describing "live" on NBC the Course as "extremely" easy, akin to a "pitch and put"! Do not think I have ever heard such commentary in connection with a PGA Tournament. Worse from a Country perspective, a shot from Bubba was described as coming out of the "desert"!!! Please just have someone stop the coverage, as this is potentially worse for "our Brand" than even the out of control crime and dysfunctional political climate we live in, which remain for the most part unknown to the outside World.

Would appear from the reporting that this Course is far too easy and not up to par for the Pros. What is further interesting to note is how poor the "Resident" Pros, Rose and Scott are doing compared to the "Guests". One would have expected them to have a huge advantage from having played the Course on a regular basis, but apparently not?!?

The coverage certainly does not portray the beauty of The Bahamas at all. Distinct lack of vegetation makes the place look more like Dubai, but without the fancy buildings, so more like some sort of odd military compound with all the darkly painted tin roofs. Again, very poor representation of The Bahamas and truly amazing that people have been willing to invest from all accounts "serious" money into such a concept when there are so many other better options available for much less. Just proves, notwithstanding The Great Recession, how many suckers with money are out there still willing to drink the Kool-Aid! Presumably, easy made, easy lost. In any event, hopefully any future golf coverage will be from Ocean Club, Lyford, Exuma or Abaco, all of which are truly beautiful courses in far more attractive locations. Dare I say, even poor old down trodden Freeport would show better!

I applaud John Buchanan for articulating so well what a "few" of us knew all too well was the "real" reason this Project imploding, namely Izfailian and his incompetent Management, together with his hand picked Light Weight "social" Directors and Legal Advisors. The only person who I have any sympathy for in this whole debacle is his Father, who backed his Son, only to see him disgrace the Family Name and in the process squander the Family Fortune. One can only hope that he leaves to Charity what may remain!

Well written, but with a "D" average for as long as one cares to remember, how on Earth can one expect to reverse this trend, unless perhaps we completely open up our Country to intelligent and wealthy foreign immigrants without restriction in the hope of pig-backing off their ideas, as it is simply not possible for us with a "D" average to solve a situation requiring "A" Class intelligence.

I agree, asking the King of our modern day Tourisim Product to take over a Competitor who vowed to be "bigger and better" than Alantis is one thing from an ego perspective, but to expect the King to also now destroy what continues to represent the Jewel in his Crown, however lost, in order to succeed is simply never going to happen, and in turn, this "supposed" deal makes little, if any sense.

Sad, sad ... Reality is most of our Southern Bahamians have been hanging on by a thread for years and as bad as this Hurricane was, the Country is broke, so as with the Warnings, aid and assistance will be "limited", albeit question how we can see fit to pay "private" Employees of the failed "Baha Mar" and Vendors who did not "profit" from the failed Carnival over these truly poor Bahamians? I fear a simple case of out of sight, out of mind!

Izfailian was the Developer and the Cuban/Bahamain D'agulair his trusted advisor, but neither had a clue and this is the end result, no one to blame but themselves, and everyone else simply left to absorb finanacial loses and reputational damage as they drift off back to the foreign lands from where they both came.

How can private enterprise that incurred risk for profit expect to be made whole if the very risk they should have built into their pricing occurs?!? Would they have shared the profit if they had been paid in full?!? Whether anyone likes it or not, the Chinese Bank has a "first priority position" over all other Creditors, just like Commonwealth, Scotia, RBC or CIBC if you take a Mortgage out with them over your House. No one in such scenario ever expects to jump ahead of or be on par with the Bank if they subsequently lend money to or perform services for the Borrower. I fear our "D" Average for the past 20 years has produced a Society that has No Clue how business is conducted in the "real" World, hence our slippage on all World Rankings as we fall into some sort of peculiar Welfare State that of course, we have no basis to support either.
