I thought Babak had been kicked out of the Country and was persona non grata. Clearly he is more powerful than our own Government, as not only is he still here, but continues to manipulate a major facet of our Economy for his own personal benefit. The idea that he is looking out for anyone, but Babak, is farcical and demonstrates a clear lack of knowledge of the man.

Leaving China and our Government to one side, at some point one must accept incompetent Directors and Managment coupled with perhaps the worst Legal Represntation and Advise in the history of Business ultimately produces what we have today, a failed Project, irrespective of all of Daddy's money, which in virtually anyone else's hands would have been an uniquivical basis for success. Well done Son, well done ... your decision making and choice of confidants have cost me much embarrassment, not to mention your inheritance.

Hate to disappoint, but Brent is a Lawyer too, albeit one with money, so no need to entertain corruption.

Unless an "independent" investigation is conducted, 3 weeks is also more than ample time to "cook the books"! Interestingly enough, also enough time to actual "swim" to Crooked Island with ones own supplies strapped to your back, bearing in mind the same are still to arrive. Maybe the Mailboats lost their radar too and can no longer "find" Crooked Island?

As BahamaPundit correctly summizes, at the expense of Creditors who either lent money or provided services to enable the Project to progress to this point in the first place. Why should these people be the ones to suffer the "haircuts" to allow Izfailian to continue with his doomed Project?

Baha10 says...

Unfortunately, this is the result when people with no, little or failed business experience get in over their heads in spending money they never earned, in this case Daddy's, and then get upset that they were denied the opportunity to avoid Creditors who lent them money by exploiting US Chapter 11 procedures, which if allowed, would be akin to fraud.

With political favoritism now on full public display, why has Graham Thompson allowed its once much respected integrity and reputation to be compromised by the McWeeny Brothers?!?

Those currently suffering in the aftermarth from such exemplary work would beg to differ and prefer to be acknowleged via the tendering of Resignations by those Government Officials and Civil Servants responsible for their near loss of life due to such exemplary service to the Citizenry they were elected, appointed and indeed, paid to protect.

Bottom line is Storm was not being properly tracked for whatever reason, hence insufficient Warnings, and those responsible for such failings need to resign, end of story, as if you are not going to take responsibility for putting Lives in jeopardy, then what are you?!? Very sad state of affairs, which stands as yet another example of why this Country is in the mess it is in.

Very well put, only problem, there appear to be few, if any, "right" thinking Bahamians in Government, irrespective of Party.
