Is it just me or does listening to this guy sound like an alcoholic on the street, "I ain't ga use dis money for no Gin, I promise promise promise." Fact is, Bahamian politicians are addicts. They are addicted to borrowing funds the country doesn't have to pay for things this country doesn't really need. Once you understand that they are addicts, you'll take these bold faced promises with a very large grain of salt.
The consumer receives a terrible shopping experience IMO: dirty, broken infrastructure and crazy high prices. If I had a decent alternative, I'd never step into one again.
This is terrible optics. Minnis should not have raised VAT to an unsustainable break-back level and then increased First Class travel for ministers' wives.
Why does this Government perform so terribly in the Courts? It was a no brainer to hire a private sector law firm for legal advice before making employees redundant. I guess Doc should stick to medicine and let lawyers handle politics.
He also spoke to Bahamian rake n' scrape group, Lassie Doe and the Boys, whose music is not protected by copyright.
Copyright vests automatically in the creator from the date of creation of the work, so the Lassie Doe and the Boys music IS protected and copyrighted internationally. Where do we find these people?
Copyright in The Bahamas is already international and does not require the WTO to protect creators' rights. You would not obtain a copyright on a tree bark. You might obtain a patent on the process for manufacturing it, but this has nothing to do with WTO either.
If we keep this failed state ship called The Bahamas from sinking for another ten years, I will be completely shocked. This country has bankruptcy written all over it. Nothing can survive the amount of negligent stewardship this country has sustained since Independence. Nothing.
If you removed corruption from the Government, there wouldn't be a need for income tax or even VAT. 40 years of plundering the public treasury has caused this country to go broke, nothing else.
