Be prepared. It could cost us millions and even billions, if it shuts down the cruise, hotel and flight industries, which is in the realm of possibility.
We didn't ask for prosecutions!!! All we asked for was a Freedom of Information Act and Campaign Finance Reform Act. That's it. Any excuse the current Government gives for not providing this legislation is corruption in its purest form. The two prosecutions were a red herring, a smokescreen, much like the "demolition" of shanty towns. We want results!!! We want to bind future governments and inject the people's rights into their future dealings.
"proactive engagement with other countries and international regulatory bodies"
This is the Bahamas' biggest failing. For some reason the "we black" they "white and racist" mentality doesn't lead to good communication and business. The only countries we actually communicate with are Jamaica and Haiti. This needs to change, if The Bahamas wants to integrate its financial services with G7 economies.
The Bahamas Government gives favor to Haitians over any other nationality. Imagine if Cubans or Dominicans had set up camp in Andros? They would be run out of town in weeks. Goes to show how far Haitians have infiltrated our Government.
