If you don't have the brains to do it for yourself, WTO will flatten you like a pancake. We need to get some proactive leadership brains in this country that actually read books and implement analytical reasoning to the economics of the country. It's not rocket science, but critical thinking skills are required.

Or how about just stop stealing the money we do have and borrow on behalf of the Bahamian people. At least 50% of the 10 billion dollar debt was wasted on corruption.

This deal could likely be signed by the FNM Government right before the next election. If this happens, the 40 year lease should be declared null and void. It smells like a quid pro quo type deal: You finance my campaign, I grant your deal. It's also odd that this deal was put together AFTER the Chinese American's proposal to mine Andros Aragonite. IOW, you give us the deal, and we'll sell to the Chinese American.

On Oil exploration fears for 'eco centric mecca'

This article's title is pure propaganda! So what if it's 100% Local Ownership. What difference does that make whatsoever? It's still destroying the environment and taking what belongs to all Bahamians and giving it to a few. If my house is robbed by a foreigner or Bahamian, it makes no difference; my house is still being robbed!

What a joke. This is a sand grab. Will completely destroy the environment in Andros. Sand mining is not considered ethical, because it is a non renewable resource. In the Eastern Pacific it has been banned in Malaysia, Philippines and Australia, because Signapore was buying so much sand for construction it was destroying the environment and even submerging islands completely. They want to mine the sand on land to avoid the dredging fees of mining it in the ocean. This is a non starter. No private company should own something that belongs to all Bahamians. These guys need to design an App or start a farm, instead of keep trying to make easy money by destroying the environment and pillaging our Bahamian birthright for themselves.

No. No. No. Go test your theories in another country. Oil drilling in The Bahamas is a disaster. No amount of money can hide the fact that this messy, dirty activity has no place near the pristine waters of The Bahamas.

I do not find your arguments on behalf of oil drilling to be cogent or persuasive. The Bahamas is documented as one of the most pristine ecosystems on planet Earth, and you are chastising us for wanting to protect it? The Bahamas' economy depends almost 100% on ecotourism, and you are attacking us for trying to shield it from oil pollution? You have the right to an opinion, but at least admit there are many valid reasons for keeping oil drilling far away from The Bahamas.

This is a no brainier. Obviously, this is not the country for oil drilling. Just look at what happened in Mauritius recently with the devastating oil spill. As with all things that smell fishy, follow the money. https://abcnews.go.com/International/wi…
