Tetelestai give me a break. If by subvention you mean that the industry stakeholders pay the "Fat Cat" salaries not the Government, you're out to lunch. The industry stakeholders could, just as easily, be paying these funds into the public treasury and reduce the public debt. If calling people ignorant gets your rocks off, go for it, so long as you're not a "Fat Cat" sucking up the public's funds by showing up in a suit at an organization that serves no real purpose every day.
So, when will some of the "Fat Cats" at Urca (We have two telecoms, do we really need a multi million dollar organization to govern them -- NO) and BISX be let go? They show up and play solitaire all day and get paid over 100K a year. Why is just the little man fired? One Fat Cat's sallary can pay the sallary of ten little men. But no, these Fat Cats are sacred cows; some are lodge members, some are cousins and lovers of the political elite, some are political cronies. FNM is acting like a big bully!!! It's easy to go after poor people, why not cut some of the fat off the Big Boys. Nope, never gonna happen. Japello.
What I don't like is the FNM seems to pick on and fire the small man, while leaving sacred cows, such as Bisx, urca, bamsi and Securities Commission untouched. These institutions basically do nothing and are hugely over staffed with fat cats that sit around and soak up tax payer funds with their six figure paychecks. Very unfair. It's easy to pick on the small man, but the optics are terrible!
When I say racist, I mean that they are trying to model Haiti and Jamaica rather than colonies such as Bermuda, Cayman etc. What the hell are we doing with these loser countries???
TheMadHatter. I agree with you. The problem is also that our Government and people are secretly racist against whites. Why would white tourists want to come to a place that secretly, and not so secretly, hates them. Bahamians need to change their Black Lives Matter attitude and learn to be loving hosts or we will lose everything!!!
Dawes. It sounds like you are serious about change. Don't give up. Get rid of cars on Bay Street period. Trust me. Our tourism product is suffering and worth the short term pain of relocating them.
