An increase in armed robberies coincides with an increase in taxes, food, rent, and the overall cost of living in The Bahamas. All whilst minimum wage remain less than 300 dollars a week.
I fail to see why politicians can't see this. The Bahamian people are broke and struggling, so they are resorting to violent and drastic measures to make ends meet.
I don't disagree, instead of wasting money on these "eye un the sky" surveillance, they need more modes of transportation. These police officers need to start actually patrolling instead of assuming certain areas are safe from crime.
Obviously that isn't the case, and the criminals are capitalizing on the fact that in certain affluent areas there is minimum or no police presence.
No, that happens when they make sure only one person knows how to run the ship. Maybe if other qualified (cause obviously if they are able to replace him there are others qualified) people were trained and allowed to step up, he wouldn't have to not take vacation. But in typical Bahamian fashion they feel as though if they take vacation and someone else proves capable of doing their job it makes them redundant. So in order to maintain job security they rather not leave for vacation, which is very silly. If they should die tomorrow someone still has to take the job. I have never heard of high ranking officers not taking vacation in the USA (I am prior military) and who has more stuff going on than the USA.
Why was he on forced vacation in the first place? Who has to be forced to take vacation? Is life that boring that work is the only thing you can focus, to the point where you don't want to go on vacation. SMH
Just ridiculous, the Valley Boys are acting like a bunch of spoilt brats. I always felt like as long as they are winning they are good, they can talk a lot of smack and be as biggety as they want. As soon as they lose, it's a whole different kettle of fish. They want to act as though some grave injustice was done to them, and carry on like a bunch of brats.
Let them boycott, I hope they are also boycotting receiving any seed money from the JNCP as well. I also hope that means we won't see them on Baystreet come Boxing Day 2020. Guess that means they need to find a venue to host their own parade. SMH
What's the principle? The fact that senior people don't know when it's time to move off the scene gracefully. No, instead they have to be publicly embarrassed and make a whole scene.
I personally feel that if you've served in a senior capacity for a lengthy time, after sufficient time move along and allow someone else to be promoted. If you are retirement age, take your pension and go; if close to retirement, step back and be a mentor to the new regime.
I don't understand why people feel the need to stay in these top positions until they die. I for one don't intend to die still struggling to hold a job well after my retirement age and the obvious urgings to step back.
They need to stop embarrassing themselves...as I said it's all cause they don't want to lose power and position.
All this shows is that these guys are all about pomp and pageantry. Because even though you may have been transferred to another area, your salary remains the same. Who cares if it is perceived as a demotion, you are essentially getting paid the same to do less work.
I for one would be quite alright with that, especially if I was close to retirement age. But as I said, these dudes are all looking for power and position so that's why they are so upset about the changes.
Ms. Gottlieb should be made aware that this ban was talked about prior to being put in effect. Sports Centre should have long before stop purchasing bags in an effort to have less once the ban went into effect. Now they will be stuck with an abundance of bags... I don't feel sorry for them.
