Good luck, the snorkeling and diving industry has gone unchecked here for YEARS; and unless the Defence Force decides to start patrolling and boarding these vessels nothing will change. They need to start properly conducting the safety inspections for these boats that are affiliated with tour companies offering services to tourist. Board them and make sure they have things such as basic first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and enough life jackets for all persons on board. Also all crew members should be at minimum in possession of a valid first aid/cpr certification.
US Coast Guard think they slick, why didn't they detain them in Florida. No they brought them back to The Bahamas so our government now as to foot the bill for repatriation. Meanwhile they detained the Bahamian captain in America to charge him there, because they know if they brought him here he would get off easy.
Boy I tell you, our government are such pushovers. They should have made the US keep them, 10miles of the coast of Boynton Beach is US waters.
A helicopter crash in 16ft of water is survivable, depending upon the height from which they crashed. Once the chopper would have hit the water, it would have filled, then it would have rolled. At this point the occupants could have busted out the windows-providing they were still conscious- unbuckle the seatbelts, and safely exit the helicopter.
My guess is they were either killed on impact or didn't know helicopter egress tactics.
Not necessarily in a helicopter, if they were cleared and left The Bahamas, it would be up to officials at the destination to realize they never made it. And clearly they were unaware up until the point they reported it.
How can we be overran by sharks when they are in their native habitat. Maybe they are being overran by humans, encroaching on their territory with no respect for them
I misspoke, I meant to include all the white MOP and all the white men who controlled this country prior to Independence.
Fact is we aren't ready for a white prime minister and I don't think it has anything to do with racism. I personally don't want a white prime minister because it isn't an accurate reflection of the Bahamian people. In a country where over 85% of the population is black, do you honestly see a white prime minister relating well to Bahamians.
And truthfully I think we have more to be concerned about that whether the prime minister is black or white. Because at this point many Bahamians still suffer from a colonial type mindset in thinking the white man is supreme. And if it had been any white man but Brent Symonette looking to be prime minister, I think Bahamians would vote for him.

Did he say ready for it "yet", as if to imply we never had one before and not prepared for one in the future.
He must have forgotten history and all the WHITE premiers we had previous to Independence. GTFOH Brent...
