Not true, if you look at old maps of The Bahamas, Pinewood was actually a part of a ridge that extends all the way to Prospect Ridge. In fact some parts of Pinewood are still elevated and on the ridge.
It was unscrupulous land developers that saw an opportunity to mine for fill that caused Pinewood areas to be so low lying. Some say it was Arawak Homes that did it, some say government, but who knows.
What about the ones who are tortured when held at gunpoint, not sure if you will live or die? What about the mental torture of reliving that experience?
Awww my ... thief and and a thug on the streets robbing innocent people at gunpoint, but now he's in jail with the real thugs he can't handle it. Maybe he should have thought twice before taking a gun and robbing someone.

Perhaps instead of giving out free tshirts maybe MP's can give out free first aid and CPR classes in their respective communities.
It literally would cost them nothing to host free first aid and CPR classes at the local clinics or community centres. At the very least provide people with the ability to potentially help a person bleeding, a child choking, an elderly person suffering a heat stroke, or a person having a heart attack.
A young boy was pulled from waters the other day and according to the article not one bystander on the beach knew how to perform CPR. That's so sad, everyone walking around with the latest gizmo and gadget but can't assist to safe a life.
Maybe they need to support non-profit programmes like Let's Swim Bahamas. A programme that is designed to teach government primary school children how to swim- free of charge.
They are not being trained as professional divers. They are merely open water divers... stop insulting real commercial divers who spend a minimum of 6 months in school and over 30,000 dollars in getting certified.
