9000 dollars for a home that he most likely will spend minimum time in because he lives in Freeport. Smh

if he was so "innocent" why run from the police. innocent people don't run from law enforcement, cause if you are innocent then they would have no need to detain you.

even if it's a case of mistaken identity, if you are innocent let the situation run it's course and you will be revealed to be innocent.

smh...run and one assumes you are guilty.

someone needs to shut d'Aguilar down...

i would love to know who is really benefitting from the duty free commercial washer and dryers. every 5 minutes a new superwash is being opened, and mass renovations on the ones currently operating.
but d'Aguilar can't seem to keep his eyes off the number houses and their money.
what's the matter d'Aguilar you want all the poor bahamian people money for yourself? they must not gamble, but spend their last dollar in one of your big boy machines.

i can't stand d'Aguilar, he's a hypocrite and a loud mouth (which ironically has been silent during the whole brent symonette debacle- less he be called to the table for his own skull duggery.)

Question is how many locals have been bitten by sharks in the last few years? Or is it just something that seems to happen on tours, which then begs the question what is happening on these tours that put the visitors at risk?

Can't just up and talk about regulations and rules if you don't know what you are attempting to regulate and rule. I do agree and I have said before basic first aid should be available on ALL boats conducting tours. After that one must evaluate what is being done before attempting to put rules in place. Divers and snorkelers follow two different set of rules, as do fishing charters, so leg work must be done first.

Good luck, the snorkeling and diving industry has gone unchecked here for YEARS; and unless the Defence Force decides to start patrolling and boarding these vessels nothing will change.
They need to start properly conducting the safety inspections for these boats that are affiliated with tour companies offering services to tourist. Board them and make sure they have things such as basic first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and enough life jackets for all persons on board. Also all crew members should be at minimum in possession of a valid first aid/cpr certification.

Until then...this is just the beginning.

according to some he deserves this because he holds the highest honor.

i call bs, give him a monthly stipend of maybe $3000 and anything over that let him foot the bill; after all he does receive a salary as well.

Don't mind the USA, they have laws to protect the LGBT community, here in The Bahamas we don't.

But by this point 10miles off the coast... why bring them back. They are officially in US waters.

US Coast Guard think they slick, why didn't they detain them in Florida. No they brought them back to The Bahamas so our government now as to foot the bill for repatriation. Meanwhile they detained the Bahamian captain in America to charge him there, because they know if they brought him here he would get off easy.

Boy I tell you, our government are such pushovers. They should have made the US keep them, 10miles of the coast of Boynton Beach is US waters.

A helicopter crash in 16ft of water is survivable, depending upon the height from which they crashed. Once the chopper would have hit the water, it would have filled, then it would have rolled. At this point the occupants could have busted out the windows-providing they were still conscious- unbuckle the seatbelts, and safely exit the helicopter.

My guess is they were either killed on impact or didn't know helicopter egress tactics.

In any event RIP to all involved.
