That's the truth...children having children. They are not emotionally or financially ready to have a child and they are bringing them into the world. So Mommie and Daddy are off trying to live as though they don't have children at home. Out clubbing, partying, and doing things that most young folks do at all hours of the night. meanwhile their children raising themselves.
SMH!!!! I remember when it was a stigma to be an unwed teenage mother. Nowadays girls running round proud to be a baby mama. It's actually sad...
Completely agree...these children do whatever they want with no regards to the outcome and the parents are unaware or play unaware.
We need to get back the days where everyone was everyone's keeper. If I as an adult saw a child acting out I would speak out about it and let that child and their parents know. But these days you take such a risk intervening, first you'd be lucky not to get shot or stab by the child you are reprimanding. Then the parents want to know why you reprimanding their child- thus helping to instill in them that it's okay to show disrespect to an adult.
To many bad parents is what the problem...need to get back to parenting and stop trying to befriend these children.
I do like how he stated he paid the man "significantly less" than the foreign consultants...which is a clear indication of what is also wrong with the country. Pay the foreigners more to do a job that you are paying Bahamians less to do.
I don't think she was a fisherman, furthermore from news reports that man was drunk and diving conch. Which says much about the people that let him dive conch in such a condition...
I am not saying enclose of the area so people can't get the the fisherman or the conch stalls whatever...I am talking about areas of the pier that you can walk right up to or drive your vehicle right off the side.
All I am suggesting is a little better security measures...
Why are Bahamians so blind...like little lambs to slaughter. People are so desperate for a change that they might very well jump from the pot into the fire without first looking to see.
I personally feel as though if this Mr. Bain feels he is an appropriate choice to be leader of out Bahamaland then he needs to address a public forum. Where he can be asked the pertinent questions...What are you ideas to move this country forward, Where do you stand on the matter of immigration and law enforcement, How do you feel about where we as a country stand financially and how would you assist in getting us out of deficit, What are you views on education and helping to improve our education system?
These are questions he should be willing and ABLE to answer. Furthermore he should have his personal life as an open book. Are you a believer of God, Are you in any financial debt, How does your company run, Are you an astute businessman, What are you educational qualifications, What places you in a position to do a better job than previous candidates?
Bahamians need to stop being so quick to jump on any bandwagon that might promise to be better than what they have now. Instead they need to properly check and scrutinize these politicians. For all we know he could be another wolf looking to sell off all the little silly lambs before they even know what's happening.
Not saying that is the case...but let time and investigations prove if this man is all he cracks up to be.
I am going out on a limb here and assume several things which may be true based on your ignorant and STUPID responses.
1. You must be one of the many classless men or women who think being harassed on the street is sexy and possibly a boost to your already low self-esteem.
2. You probably don't have any children most especially female because if you did you would not want anyone to harass your female child in the street.
3. You must have been raised by some random pack of stray potcakes because had you been raised by a loving mother and father you would know that harassment of any kind should not be tolerated
4. You ARE one of the MANY ignorant Bahamians who contribute to the rapid decay and decline of our society with your STUPID thoughts and opinions and your general crazy approach to how to make it better
You are speaking as though the government give a squat about how they spend the Bahamian taxpayers money. That would be a smart idea to invest in helicopters and the training of Bahamians to operate them. But why would they do that- we have to maintain our third world status. Heaven forbid we step forward and make proper changes.
While better technology may assist the Defence Force in patrolling Bahamian waters, I can say with strong conviction that will not solve the problem.
The problem lies in these corrupt officers who see being on the Defence Force as an opportunity to cash in on the illegal operations of drug and human trafficking. You mean to tell me that we don't have enough assets readily available to properly patrol the waters. I think not... What we have is officers turning a blind eye because they have been paid a little something to allow the drugs and illegal immigrants to slip by.
If they were doing proper patrols I can't see how a 100ft vessel loaded with Haitians by-passes all the southern islands and finds it way to Nassau. Either these immigrants know Bahamian waters better than the Defence Force, or they are using the good old blind eye.
Go ahead and upgrade the Defence Force but while they are at it weed out all these corrupt officers. That might help with drug interdiction and human trafficking.
How lovely...There are Bahamians now realizing that being whistled and honked at from a car while walking down a street is not a way to get the attention of a woman. I blame the jungless women who feel this type of behaviour from Bahamian men is endearing. He must really be attracted to me if he hollers at me on the street in front of everybody.
But heaven help the decent woman who ignores such behaviour keeps her head high and walks on- then it goes from "seek seek sweet thing" to "gone then with ya stinking crabby".
While this is a good idea...these type of behaviours need to be addressed at the school level. Teach young girls from primary school age that they are worth more than a "seek seek" on the side of the road, and instill in these young boys the respectful way to approach a female.
This is because these wanted men in Nassau are fleeing to the family islands to escape whatever gang violence they would meet in Nassau. However, what happens when you take someone with a certain mentality out of one environment and place them into another- nothing!!! The same behaviours will continue...
These murders are just spill overs from Nassau, I won't be surprise if in some way these men were involved with some crime committed in Nassau.
