Has the Shell MOU even been signed? Not sure? At this point after the fires I read it is costing upward of $60,000 additionally per day to run the engines that use the more expensive fuel plus I read $70 mill (ish) to replace the engines that were damaged...and now an extension for rental power costing in around 22mill....very costing mistake to the Bahamian people....I agree it is looking like there is no other choice but to endure the higher bills. In the private sector this would not be tolerated.

DDK I agree completely. A fourth party consisting of newcomers and those from existing parties who truly have a love for country. I have a feeling some of the money behind the FNM would be open minded to supporting a new option!

Agreed there are too many special interest groups. However, this man is just incompetent and he Is compromised. The relevant persons know that he gave the order to start the engine that caught fire..against recommendations of staff...now..here Bahamians are with high power bills and a bunch of excuses..and yet he remains in place..totally out of his league with the job at hand. It would be very interesting to follow the money trail with all of this.

I feel like this is the time for a fourth party...one of proven professionals who have demonstrated integrity and social compassion. Let it truly be the people’s time!

I believe this article to be important as well. Bahamians expected so much better...the country is desperate for strong leadership. Instead we have boldness such as the BPL and BCA debacles where strong professionals were crushed so a select few can keep their hands in the cookie jar...while the poor is taxed..education and healthcare are struggling. It’s disgraceful. The FNM is supposed to be better than this. I so wish Ingraham was back in charge!!!

I would like to know what does Bannister have in his back pocket on the PM?? Given the stupidity of BPL... and now this...man has to be something!!! There sure is the appearance of corruption...

Bahamianbychoice says...

This is the same mode of operation by Bannister. Two high level professionals have resigned from the FNM..Mr Sands and Mrs Osborne. Both noting political interference by Bannister. I heard Bannister note that Mr Archer has 15 years of experience...suuurreeee he does...just like Rollins at BPL right?? This is just sickening and Minnis does not step in!!!

This whistleblower protection act is just smoke and mirrors..Look at the BPL fiasco. The so called whistle blowers there all met with Minnis and provided support documentation..and he threw them all under the proverbial bus! So this FNM is no different from the past administration...sadly.

Also wasn’t it said the CEO approved the VSEP of the Director of Generation when he challenged the CEO over the purchase of the infamous turbo chargers..he along with others from the previous board..now apparently the most seasoned generation engineer in the country is retired..thanks to the CEO and Clifton has now had three fires??? Makes no sense..and we all suffer!!!!

I agree completely this is what happens when unqualified people are put in charge...makes you wonder why this is??? Re the foreign workers...who knows...nothing would surprise me ...I did hear Heastie requisitioned these workers and approved it...there was no mix up..just this CEO trying to duck and weave taking responsibility ...but again why is this government allowing this???
