I hope Bahamian Evolution adds BPL to their list of investigations regarding pipeline ownership and the future sale of LNG. Most likely will be shocking what is uncovered, who benefited and the backdoor deals that have been made....
I agree completely with Mr Malcolm’s comments. As a Canadian and also a Bahamian property oowner these restrictions will seriously impact any visitors from Canada or visitors in general. I in fact emailed the Prime Ministers office and the Minister of Tourism regarding the short time frame to obtain a negative PCR test and Health Visa. I had no response. If I also did not have a connection to this country with family I would not even bother. Now we see Bahmar again delaying opening..different from what was announced. What did the government expect? Is there any outside consultation ever?
I totally agree! He just need to get out of the way..stop with the politics. Only now is he seeing the value of the industry in regards to food security.
I totally agree. We can agree to disagree and still be respectful. I did not mean my comment with any political innuendos so I apologize if that came across. In saying this, we must be honest at these times which includes recognizing when political maneuvering is happening as you are very correct this is not a time to play politics.
I find this message disingenuous. The Prime Minister is a wealthy man and owns shares in many companies. This is just political rhetoric to deflect the frustration of the masses away from him.
Didn’t Grand Bahama Power fire the present CEO of BPL....and they have reliable power while the rest of the country has power insecurity or no power like some of the islands...
To start Pintard needs to support the Bahamian boat owners/fishermen in developing the industry ...instead of always playing politics and victimizing. This industry is the easiest and quickest to further develop. It can help feed people quickly and the exports generate much needed US dollars. Pintard just needs to get out of the way!
The main fishing hub for the Bahamas is out of Moore’s Island in Abaco. The boat owners have been working very hard to get the Abaco fishermen back and working after the hurricane. Exporting of seafood now is the only industry that generates US dollars which the country needs to pay its bills. The present Minister of Agriculture has been nothing but a hindrance to the industry as a whole. I saw him on the news talking about food security initiatives..first he is disingenuous and late to the game..now here we are. Maybe he should humble himself and consult the Bahamian boat owners/fishermen and work to come up with plans ...short and long term. This not a time for politics..we all need to pull together!!
