Paying for votes, Wow.. Politics beats out morals, sound business, and rational thinking.. Leslie Miller tries to take a stand, but the phone calls comes in from the bosses everytime... I would resign and move on with my life if i were him, he is chairman in title alone..
The solution is to stop people from coming in the first place and assimilate those that are already here... First offer a Amnesty program for individuals to come forward plead there case and receive the necessary documentation, we are not inhumane and it gets a count of the population. Now to immediately deal with the crime issue, 1st require all young men 18-26 that are not in school or gainfully employed to serve 2 years in the Defense force, it will teach them discipline, give them employment, get them of the street from commiting crime and help secure our borders to stop the flow of drugs, guns and illegal immigration.. 2nd offer young men and women arrested for non violent or sexual crimes military Boot camp with the defense force or jail time.. Create a Training base with housing on one of the larger outer islands.. Teach them marketable skills and discipline, and if they don't want to change send them to jail for violation of the conditions of there probation.. If they are in training they are not busy making babies or causing problems.. They will be provided with free housing, food, uniforms and more importantly purpose and goals.. Leaving a bunch of unemployed, broke, unskilled, undisciplined young people running around without a purpose is dangerous.. Too deal with the immediate crime problem u must audit the RBPF and flush out to the street those individuals sitting behind the desk getting fat.. The way criminals are getting around is mostly by cars, Get modile units out on patrol and run random license plates.. If the car comes back stolen, unregistered or plates not matching the car, stop it and engage.. Then increase the amount of foot patrols in all communities continuously day and night and build relationships and trust with the communities instead of behaving like a occupational army. Talk to the kids, families, Old people sitting on the porch, let them know u care and will be around daily... Non of this can be done without leadership but its a start of a solution..
Why stop cars waste of time, walk outside Haitians every where.. This is nonsense they're not hiding & u faking like u looking.. This is a staged event for the public all politics & total b.s..
Cameras only work to look up incidents after the fact unless they are manned 24-7.. And outsoucing there installation is rediculous they are pretty simple to install.. At issue should be the relationship between the Police and the Public.. We need to examine the RBPF and its professionalism. One of the greatest weapons against crime is the public and if they aint talking u pretty much screwed.. A cheaper solution would be to provide 25,000 cheap cell phones with direct link to police emergency in poor communities and a better response system in general..People will talk if there identity can be kept safe. This can only work if the RBPF Goan Squad stop beating people and operate like a professional organisation. Finally People have to consider that crime is institutionalized in the Government, including the Police Force so without radical changes in leadership and policy crime is not going to get better.. We need new blood period in politics, and leadership throughout...Electing the same people over and over again and expecting change is truly insane... Lastly, I believe John mentioned in one of his non religious post the idea of military service for some of our young men, that was a good idea.. Require 2 years of service in the RBDF for young men leaving high school or before there 22 birthday if they are not gainfully employed or enrolled in college or trade school.. Teach them discipline and a marketable skill while they are in there...
Overwhelming, disturbing, there is just too much crime & violence.. I've had enough of reading Tribune it's depressing, time for action... We need a plan....
Wooo did I just read that.. he did say rob, wow... such a sense of entitlement... is it not enough the double dipping by employees, now they want a bonuses even though BEC is in the red.. what's next new personal cars, spa treatments, gourmet meals....
Crime has plagued people living over the hill for decades, its just that now the criminals have multiplied and the restraints are gone bringing them into tourist area's and gated communities.. People are more desperate and the flow of guns sames endless.. Few people had guns when i was growing up in Nassau, but Robberies were plenty.. Crime statistic are such a load of crap.. The numbers are manipulated constantly, they find ways to change a theft into a robbery, attempted murder into causing harm, sexual assault into sexual harassment or close cases in a rush.. Case numbers are pulled for b.s. to generate positive events to off balance the negative equation and throw of the math to the positive side.. We have people sitting on there ass collecting checks in desk jobs that should be out fighting crime.. Police work has become about manipulating numbers not fighting crime... Lastly the RBPF is a brutal agency that does not have the public's trust.. The fact is they beat people especially the poor creating barriers of communication.. They are bold, arrogant, aggressive, abusive, creating fear and intimidation in poor people, therefore I cannot see any progress on the crime problem without first dealing with professionalism inside the RBPF. Its bad enough that many people have relatives involved in this crime but those in communities who are not a part of this are afraid of the criminals and the Police.
