Well, you can still move out to safer countries like Gambia or Syria, murder count is much lower there when you don't count the people getting killed by the local gangs/factions.

That website is to launder money. You can say you sold a million T-Shirts, no one can verify that information or where the money came from.

Just a year or two too late to figure that out. We pulled out out 2016 - dumping all previous purchased real-estate. The Bahamas government is a bunch of disgusting crooked and unbelievable stupid and short-sighted people. We were waiting for permits, were told to pay officials in order to get them "faster". Other companies told us it's normal to setup a budget "for the bribes" before even starting a project.

Multiple investors are still waiting on their temporary and permanent permits. In short, if you don't pay the bribe you don't get your paperwork. Just disgusting, you can rather invest somewhere in South Africa and deal with more reliable governments

House bought for 1 million 2 years ago, still waiting on permanent residency, documents all filed 12 months ago. Meanwhile also waiting for temporary residency to be extended. Filed the extension in juni, my old residency expired in November - but who cares. I closed my company, fired all employees and relocated back Spain. 2 months now without power outages, residency took 1 day, milk is 50 cents a bottle, 100% covered health insurance is 80$ a month, bought a Porsche Cayenne for 50k$... So long and fuck the Bahamas!

Wow, what an idiot. We left the Bahamas 2 month ago because of we didn't feel safe and most of our friends i met in the Bahamas aren't living there as well anymore. You need gated communities, you have shootings and murders on a daily basis, no national health-care. I feel sad for Bahamians who actually have to live with a government like that. Get rid of this useless government that's constantly in denial of everything. Makes me really upset reading this because the people who are suffering from this incompetent crooked government are actually one of the nicest people i have met in my life - it's beyond me how the people of the Bahamas allow a government like this to exist. Maybe it's that, most Bahamians are too nice, too calm, too passive.

Cuba has a much better healthcare system and more educated doctors than the Bahamas.

Doctors from Cuba are also very welcome/accepted in European hospitals, you will find many for example in Spain. Healthcare is also free in Cuba - that country is years ahead of the Bahamas, better educated people, better healthcare, better infrastructure, less crooked politicians.

And as an investor I rather put my money into projects in Cuba than the Bahamas because in Cuba the people actually welcome your investment - at least you don't have any foreign ministers saying 'bring money, shut up'

So instead of the French Riviera you'll get the Chinese Riviera in the Bahamas. Man, what a drift in marketing... Do you seriously think this is attractive for investors or tourists ?

Interestingly that company has a big share in one of the hotels that came first to Baha Mar. So my little conspiracy theory here is they liked the concept of Baha Mar and with both CCA and the Bank they drove Sarkis out. It would explain why CCA was interested in not doing the work properly and why noone gives a 'fook' about his offer.

Stop comparing the Bahamas to a 1st World Country. It's not, it's a 3rd World Country - no equal rights between men/women, no public health insurance, bad education system, political leadership full of fools who threaten investors, high crime and murder, non-functioning powergrid. And in addition to that there is denial of responsibility everywhere. It's governed by short-sighted fools who try to put as much into their own pocket as they can - and nothing is going to change. Bahamians are way to passive

In my country these people would be sitting in jail already for a long time - here they get re-elected.

A bottle of milk in the Bahamas is about 7$ compared to 35 Cents in Europe. It's amazing how greedy you can be here without anyone saying a word about it.

That labour is still better than what you can get in the Bahamas. Imagine this stuff would be produced in the Bahamas, it would fall apart before unboxing it. Or imagine a car produced in the Bahamas, just the thought how it would look like and how long it would last is entertaining. So i wouldn't complain about something you couldn't create locally in the next 500 years.
