Shame on this government for not including the North Bimini Marine Reserve in this recent declaration. Sadly, this current government bows to the money that Resorts World & Hilton wave in front of them. It's shameful, and a national embarrassment.
Go on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc and search the hashtags & keywords for various fisheries resources in The Bahamas (ie. lobster, mutton snapper, etc.) and you will find obscene amounts of poaching being blatantly celebrated by American visitors.
These poachers should be fined and banned from returning.
The title of this story should be "Resorts World PAID Mariah Carey to Relax at their Resort".. RWB is so desperate to be seen as successful or ritzy, it is pathetic.
This is not a yacht, and this is not a cruise ship. This is an American SCUBA operator exploiting Bahamian waters and resources for his SCUBA excursions. The divers on these boats come to dive in The Bahamas (mostly for shark diving), and would use Bahamian operators if these US boats were blocked. Bahamian tourism would get a boost, not a loss.
These are not yachts and cruise ships being discussed, they are American dive boats with American crew making most/all of their money by diving in The Bahamas in direct competition with Bahamian businesses.
The divers are coming to dive in The Bahamas, and will continue to come and support local businesses if these foreign dive boats are pushed out. What the BDA is suggesting is good for Bahamian tourism.

Poaching by Americans is rampant in the northern Bahamas, especially here around Bimini. I hope a strong example is made out of these two criminals.
