This is a sentiment that has been debunked many times. The entire population of the Earth could fit in an area roughly the size of Texas, if the area was as densely populated as New York City.
What's happening in Bimini is not a matter of religion or overpopulation, it is a matter of reckless, senseless development. Everything that RWB is trying to do could be done in a better, smarter way. That is the point.
They are doing things in the dumbest way possible, and PM Christie is cheering them on the whole way.
This is what happens when greedy developers and gullible politicians try to rush through projects, brushing aside any and all criticisms in the name of "jobs, jobs, jobs!"
You end up hiring criminals, unqualified workers, and causing even more damage to an island's reputation that is being dragged through the mud by RWB.
This judge just sent a message to every greedy, unscrupulous investor in the world letting them know that they can get away with anything in the Bahamas.
What a shame.
Resorts World Bimini started their pier before they had any permits. There was absolutely no public consultation until after the permits were finally granted. And even though the Bimini Blue Coalition offered numerous compromises, Genting and their partners in Government completely ignored them.
How many more Red Flags can one company send up before the Bahamian government realizes that these Genting people are clueless? Resorts World Bimini is one misstep after another.
The Bimini Bay Resort, now Resorts World Bimini, has been the most consistently controversial, destructive, disrespectful, and mismanaged resort for the last decade in The Bahamas.
Having a government that continues to suck up to developers like this doesn't make The Bahamas look attractive for investors, it makes The Bahamas look desperate and weak.
People will ALWAYS want to invest here, it's one of the most beautiful countries on Earth. The Government's job should be to pick through proposals and find the best ones. In that regard, they are failing miserably.
"Mr Lim’s father, Genting’s founder, had similar feelings when he visited Bimini 10 years ago, Mr Leibovitz added. 'The chairman jokes that this is one of the longest negotiations he’s been,” he added of the Bimini project. “It’s never been off the radar."
And now Mr Roberts saying "Genting was nowhere even near the Bahamas." for the election last year?
Can't speak for other islands, but when the PLP is in power, Genting/RAV Bahamas gets whatever they want here in Bimini, and Biminites are ignored and disregarded.
Not saying the FNM is squeaky clean, but at least here in Bimini the PLP are owned by Genting & Capo.

Prime Minister Christie's legacy will be one of corruption, lies, bribes, intimidation and reckless development.
The people of The Bahamas should be ashamed, though it seems like most of them already are.

The Government of the Bahamas should be standing with the Bimini Blue Coalition and the Save The Bays affiliates.
History will not be kind to PM Christie if he doesn't recognize his job is to serve the people of the Bahamas, not the wealthiest investors.
