Oh boy, I guess I hit a nerve with you. Please don't start labelling everyone as racists or slave owners, you are better than that.. If you think my points are inaccurate, that's fine with me as you're entitled to your own opinion, But, as my non-plantation and non-slave owning grandmother use to say "nothing changes, if nothing changes"
Oh, and I would love to know where you got the info about the World Economic Forum wanting to lower the age of consent to 13. Are you sure about that ? Maybe you are confusing it with the fact that over 70% of countries allow children to marry at 13, and therefore by default can have sexual relations after marrying. Not saying I agree with it, in fact I don't, but I would like to know your source.
How many heterosexual men (or women) have been charged with being pedophiles, and how many homosexuals have? I assume you are aware of the answer, right?
As with most religious people, you seem to equate homosexuality with pedophilia, when it is actually totally untrue. You have to stop believing what that closet pedophile preaches to you from behind the pulpit, and start looking for answers elsewhere.
So is referring to the USA as America. It's insulting to other countries that are part of Central or South America. Wearing shoes indoors is viewed as disgusting in many cultures, so is putting your feet up and showing someone the soles of your feet. All these habits are acceptable to us, but not others. Homosexuality is acceptable now in many cultures. Most of those not accepting of homosexuality, are either countries where religion has a stranglehold on the population or countries ruled by dictators.
Maybe Bahamians should stop constantly playing the victim card, and instead teach their kids the value of:
a) A good education
b) Birth Control
c) Keeping your legs closed and your pecker in your pants (see b above). Lead by example and don't be a young single mom yourself.
d)The self-satisfaction of doing a hard days work or studying
e) Not thinking that God, or the church, is going to do all the things that your lazy ass is unmotivated to do such as fixing your kids growing pains.
The lack of motivation in many Bahamians, as well as no desire to get a good education, are a couple of significant reasons why 'foreigners' get to own a sizeable chunk of the Bahamian economy and Bahamians don't. STOP always blaming the foreigners. They are just seizing an opportunity that was also there for Bahamians to find, but chose not to.
Don't waste your energy. They've been brainwashed by a book of fiction authored by an anonymous person, or persons, who were probably just bored of not getting the attention they desired. Remember, to these religious sheep, the Bible is far more important than, and supersedes anything written in the US or Bahamian constitutions.
You can't just point the finger at Minnis and the current administration. For the most part, there have been no private sector incentives championed by either this or previous governments, both PLP & FNM.
I wonder what the additional cost to the government was to treat all those Covid patients in ICU? Probably far more than the cost of dishing out fines. At least they got some of that expense back.
Although I am very much in agreement with reducing government expenses, the consequence of doing so would significantly increase the number of unemployed, which in turn would increase the number of people requiring financial assistance from the government.
An over-bloated lazy government workforce has been in existence for so long now that it has become part of the Bahamian culture. I'm not sure there is actually a painless way to get out of it.
