Government has nothing to do with it. The companies developing the vaccines are either private or publicly listed companies. The FDA etc. act independent to the government, even though President Trump tries to influence them.
There's absolutely nothing in those reports worth considering. Bell's Palsy is considered a Non-serious adverse event as it is a temporary condition, (that rectifies itself), and occurs in normal day to day life in a small percentage of the general population. The number of occurrences in the clinical trials is in line with the percentage of occurrences in the general population. Both the Moderna & Pfizer clinical trials had 4 subjects each who experienced Bell's during the clinical trials. 1 of the 4 who experienced it in the Moderna trial received the placebo and not the vaccine. There is no evidence whatsoever that it is related to the vaccine. The articles from NY Post & Australia are more interesting, and possibly related but in true NY Post style, they aren't exactly being forthwith with their reporting. All I can say is, that these are all vaccines that are under development and haven't even gone into Phase I clinical trials yet (except for the Australian one, which has now permanently stopped development), This is the reason you conduct clinical trials and why they are so important. In this case, they did their job. Most people think it is a formality to get any drug through clinical trials and on the market. In reality it is a very long and expensive process ($1 Billion), with a really low success rate (<10%).
Aren't bonuses just that i.e. bonuses. Not part of your fixed salary, and not guaranteed. To me bonuses are based on employer & employee performance. No-one in their right mind should include a bonus in their annual living expenses budget. It always amazes me how some people in the US rely on a tax rebate to supplement their annual income, and then complain or panic when they either don't receive one and can't make their monthly payment on something!!
*The testing is free if you want to wait a week or even 10 ten days for the results. If you need the results in 48 hours, you've got to pay at a private clinic.*
Exactly right. Testing with same day results costs at least $200, and there aren't that many places that do it. Also, most insurance won't cover it. Testing with results in 2-3 days is anywhere from $0-$150 and usually covered by health insurance. However, since most people go the free testing sites the wait time to get results is typically longer, especially when infections increase.
Why is wearing a mask going to look funny? In Asian countries it is quite common to see people in masks when they have head cold etc. Been that way for a long time. Also, people in the west often wear balaclavas, scarves or other items that cover their mouths and faces.
So if President Trump had won a second term, would you still be saying the same thing and questioning the integrity of the final results? Honest question
And, there will doubtless be many more who suffer allergic reactions. BUT there will millions if not billions (that's with a 'B'', as you like to say), that will be immune from COVID and able to get their lives, jobs etc. back to some sort of normalcy. Your sensationalizing of events by using "near fatal" and "hospitalized" etc, just goes to show how your mind actually works.
Believe what you want, but I know first-hand how the development and approval process works, and why it normally takes a lot longer to get these treatments approved.
Haven't absentee and mail in ballots been used for years? Especially for armed forces personnel? My guess is there are more republican voters in the military than democrats, but I've never heard anyone in either party complain about problems with illegal votes from military personnel. I think even President Trump was an absentee voter this year, correct?
