I guess Mitchell has to prove that he is not Bradley Roberts lite. When he has nothing to add to the political discourse, Mitchell just invents stuff in his head - a dangerous individual!

I agree. What Brave Davis is saying here makes no sense. He has seemingly made it his mantra to remain in "campaign mode" leading right up to the next General Election. Good luck to him!

This Immigration Department needs to be reined in, and maybe Director Pratt need to be retired. We need a new Director who will enforce the immigration laws of our country, while showing some basic regards for the civil and human rights of those who flaunt these laws. There is nothing too difficult in treating violators, and their attorneys, with decency and respect, while still doing and effective job. Pratt may not be able to lead this initiative.

What poor reporting by this reporter! I am convinced that either the reporters are too lazy, or the editors just don't give a flying hoot. Why don't we hear from the bank's management's viewpoint?

Are the majority of you just plain ignorant, or only pretend to be? Sometimes, when reading some of your posts, I can only hang my head in shame. With backwards thinking like many of you, this country will be forever stuck in the 19th. Century mire in which it currently finds itself. In most emerging countries, the spouse of the Country's elected leader can play a highly visible role in bringing focus to many important causes. A very good idea, that our country so badly needs.

What a backward, third-class, banana republic of a country? I have lived in quite a few other countries, over my life-time, and has never seen such unprofessionalism, and lack of decency, from a government department. Whoever heard of an attorney not being allowed to see his client, or not told that his client is no longer detained? What kind of Backwardness is this?

The overall ignorance of the Bahamas screams ever so loudly every day. The racist, xenophobic, and just plain silly rantings underlie the failure of our educational system. I really believe that we should be declared a failed state by the UN and be returned to Britain - except they probably wouldn't want us. Heaven help us!

@Alex_Charles. As a law-abiding citizen, who's concerned about crime, shouldn't you pass this information along to the police?

These fees are standard in most developing countries. Bahamians just love slackness too much and expect the government to cover all and sundry expenses. I knew of the deceased relative of a neighbor who was stored at the Morgue for almost 3 months before the burial service. When I asked the reason, I was told that they were waiting for family members abroad to get vacation time. This is ridiculous. The question for Bahamians is: Do we want a government that operates with fiscal efficiency, or one that continues to rack up multi-million dollar deficits in all sectors?

I see nothing wrong with the hairstyles in the above photos. A person's choice of hairstyle should not be dictated by an employer, except for hygienic concerns.
