The mere fact that in the year 2015 we are having this discussion in the Bahamas says a lot about the backwardness of our country. There are many educated, professional women in this country who could out-manage any of the past three Prime Ministers. It is past time for one of outstanding ladies to shatter the glass ceiling. If Loretta is the one chosen, she will definitely get my vote.
Of course Bell is only echoing the sentiments of his PLP masters (Perry and Nottage), and what he has heard repeated in Cabinet meetings. It is no secret that Perry would like to appoint his recycled senior police officer as top COP. It is Perry's MO. See Williams at BTC, and countless others.
Of course Greg Moss is simply wasting his time, and taking a walk in the park. There are no followers, and there will be none. He won't even retain his seat in Parliament come next election. If his short stint as chairman of the National Insurance Board is any indication of how he would run a government, the Bahamian voters will shout a resounding "no thanks".
Keith Bell was only saying what Perry Christie and other cabinet members, including Nottage, think. Police Officers are trained to respect hierarchy, and would never think of undermining their superiors. If this matter was never discussed at cabinet level, and Bell had no inkling of Perry Christie's and B J Nottage's thinking, he would never had said anything untoward of the police commissioner.
Bran and the DNA are finished. There is no hope for them. I think he is only upset that he was not able to entice Rollins or Wells to join his party and give the DNA a voice in Parliament.
Birdie, does it ever make you wonder why you are always the lone dissenting voice (other than your alter ego Tal) on these blogs. Maybe, just maybe, one time, you are completely out of step with the rest of us?
While I usually enjoy reading Adrian Gibson's "Young Man's View", this article is downright disgusting as a journalistic piece. I always anticipate reading the column, looking forward to being challenged. While Mr. Cash may deserve the response, it should have been in a private response. For you to use your journalistic advantage to decimate any public or private figure based on a personal email was wrong, and showed you as being just as thin-skinned as you accused Mr. Cash of being. It also seemed as though you wanted to tout your accomplishments versus Mr. Cash's. Very poor journalism, and a big disservice to your readers.
