There is an obvious option to eliminate passing the debt onto bpl customers and that is to sell the utility!
Surely selling the utility off will generate sufficient proceeds to pay off the debt, and likely put a little dough into the government coffers.
We know, that it’s not possible for the utility to be run any worse; as long as we make sure it’s Sold to an established and experienced foreign operator, and not a group of government cronies that buy it.
Their will be resistance though, foolish Bahamian pride, and the usual pressure from the government cronies who profit so much from the fat contracts and let’s not forget the fuel suppliers too
Well it’s likely a Bahamian can meet the requirements and given our small nation size, it is impossible to find a Bahamian without conflicts of interest in some cases.
Likewise with the police, we all notice how hard it is to get a police report, when the party is related to a cop, even in matters as simple as a car crash. If the guilty party has police family, they get off.

The “digitizations of records” is nothing but a vehicle to carry the tax payers money into the pockets of a selected few.
Of all the problems in our health system, a great computer system is the least of which.
First you must be able to perform, and then perform well, before any benefit of organization at that level will make a difference.
This is a scam,that’s all.
Look in Ontario Canada their government spent a billion in a similar fiasco.
