are you crazy, I know of at least 10 cases like this where immigration runs these guys around of more than 10 years. forcing them to buy work permits, leaving them with incomplete status and unable to travel.
Lets be honest here, our immigration department is awful, and they all deliberately make peoples lives miserable. They immigration department is an example of the dog wagging the tail in this country, they do next to nothing, and nothing on schedule.
We should deport all the immigration employees (aka scum of the Bahamas) .
perhaps the immigration dept beat this man a little too hard.
remember the corruption here is systemic, and ingrained in the DNA of our people.
Our people are some of the worst people you can find in any country , just nasty, lazy useless, violent people.
We are now showing our true colours, we are run as poorly as any other black run country in the world.
I'm ashamed that there are no examples of a decent black run country. What will I say to my kids as they grow up; do I just tell them that our people "cant do anything right"?
The fact that there are few examples of people who successfully make it through the educational system, go on from there to get university degrees shows that the system is possible to navigate if there is a will to do so.
sadly, it takes a parent who cares, and a kid who tries! Obviously few and far between in our country.
Aside from that, any employee who is willing to try, work hard and learn will move forward, regardless of education. But again employees like that are few and far between,
Any way you slice it, our people are lousy.
Ever notice how hard work can pay off, how trying can make a difference, apparently to our Bahamians, it's not something worth doing; not if they can scam there way through!
Will someone please address the hiring foreigners issue honestly for once and for all.
If someone wants to hire foreigners, whether Bahamian owned company, or foreign owned, they must have reasons.
Foreign workers cost more, and must also bring some baggage; i.e. the need to take time off to travel home from time to time, they require permits (which are a hassle to get), and they need time to get accustomed to our Islands.
So if foreigners cost more, bring baggage, need permits, usually are supplied vehicles and housing, private medical etc etc etc
Why would anyone want them given all this, if it were not for the obvious, which is sadly that our people's work ethic, education, attitude etc etc etc is garbage.
you want to stop the foreigners from taking your jobs, fix yourselves, dont look for legislation to protect you. fix your own dead ass, and make yourself worth hiring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oops, i guess I just addressed the hiring foreigner worker issue honestly!
While it's true that a full member will be able to enter into new markets with exports; it's worth noticing that this opportunity is only available to the big boys. Sure the little people can weave a basket and sell it abroad, and they always could. But small business does not have the means to enter foreign markets and set up shop.
We should ask ourselves why we feel we are being generous in offering these children a place in our "D" average producing education system. Either our people are stupid, or the system is!
We Bahamian's should be wary..... What if these students come, and achieve an A or B average??? That would prove our people as a whole are stupid.
Our's is a hell hole of a country, crime rate is amongst the worst of the world, corruption is out of control, the entire system on the brink of collapse after all the thiefing. Yet our arrogant Bahamian attitude spews a deluded sense of false pride in hopes of protecting ourselves from the poor unfortunates of the region. Meanwhile our fat undereducated full of pride pigs drive along the road in the junkers throwing their fast food garbage out the window.
Our turn will come, and we won't deserve any help from any nation. The world will be a better place once we get a good washing from the perfect storm!
As someone who has lived in the Bahamas for 15 years, it is becoming more apparent that you people are the nastiest people I have met anywhere in the world. Not all Bahamians, but the majority that we must interact with during our day to day activities.
Be more rude, could yah? You live in a subdivision that is essentially a former swamp, rock level generally below high water level, filled with limestone over a layer of mud. You will get your turn one day, and your house will be sitting on the few piles it's built on with everything else around it gone. You sound like our typical Jacka## citizens who hides behind the wall throwing stones.
Sadly nobody, not either government, nor any developer or hotelier seems to get it. These projects are not what made us into a tourist destination, they are what's killing it.
We have visitors based on our historic name in tourism, but sadly when people arrive, they find just another bunch of American type resorts, and of course the mess in the streets.
Why should anyone come here for these resorts, better versions are available in every developed country. We need to get back to our roots, and perhaps then we can become a thriving country once again.
Stop turning our country into a first world plastic village.................

Not only are the major cities dirty, expensive and they have nothing much to offer, but the people suck too.
Wanna fix things for tourists, try giving them something worth doing or seeing or buying, and get rid of the Bahamian's with their Bahamian attitude.
Nothing worse than getting in one of our taxis and having to interact with the low life slimeball.
Disgusting place, people and prices.
I'm Bahamian, but I couldn't and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
