The UK? Really? People in the UK get reliable power and water, good health care, excellent schools, public transportation, and police who do not start shooting at anything that moves. Please. Spare us comparisons to the UK.

Well said. The vendors do not give away their products, but they expect everybody else to provide services to them, free of charge. Yes, it is in the national character: “Evy’body be a predator but me and my mummy.”
Ridiculous ... neither the government nor this newspaper has deigned to tell us who these supposed $2 billion investors are, and whether they actually have two nickels to rub together. How many times — really, how many times — have we heard this stupid song before?
