@MOJO Please tell me that you’re not being serious. The hiring of Rodney Moncur is nothing more than a political payoff. I don’t agree with it, but I at least understand it. And both the FNM and PLP are guilty of it. But please don’t try and convince anyone reading your post that this hire has some effective component to it.
The Bahamas is a joke. And a bad one at that. The brain-drain epidemic has left what use to be a country void of any sensible, effective leadership or direction. The Bahamas is rudderless with nothing but incompetent minded individuals left at the helm. Just imagine passengers trying to fly a plane. Our most enlightened intellectuals capable of managing the most crucial and critical offices within our government have left for greener pastures. And the void left in their wake has proven catastrophic. Gone with them are class, decorum, etiquette, decency, propriety and diplomacy, leaving nothing but fools and illiterates to fill the gap. Nonsensical individuals more commonly known for gimmicks and comedy who’s mere presents serve as a side-show for entertainment consumption is not an effective means to mitigate crime. Lots of words come to mind when I hear the name, Rodney Moncur. And the word “solution” is not one of them.
All the more reason to gradually abandon use of fossil fuel. Consumption of petroleum has led to global warming which has triggered catastrophic natural events. Furthermore, use of fossil fuel has proven expensive and has resulted in massive global inflation. So if consumption of gasoline is destructive and expensive, why are we using it??? Especially seeing that there are other options available.
It’s time for us to go Green. We’re a smaller country so it would be easier than most. The government needs to drop tariffs on electric vehicles and encourage Bahamians to use green energy wherever possible. Solar energy can cut our dependence on petroleum products by almost 25% thus decreasing its demand. Derelict properties around Nassau should be converted to vehicular charging stations. Imagine if half the vehicles in (Nassau alone) were electric vehicles.
Problems have solutions. We as a people need to get serious.
That’s because the Bahamas IS a third world country. It’s a dump really. And you’re right…… nobody seems to care. Downtown Nassau is a perfect representation of Bahamian people.
We agree for once. And it’s the same scenario within the banking industry. Self-ordained elites are share holders within these organizations so they create any absurd reason to price-gouge Bahamians.

Exactly. I read some of these posts and I honestly all I can do is hang my head. Our people don’t have a clue. All we do is talk nonsense.

Mr. Pintard….. there are two reasons that the FNM lost the election.
1) Hurricane Dorian.
2) The COVID19 Pandemic.
Despite what Bahamian people are grumbling about, it really didn’t matter who was in office at the time. They would have voted out the PLP or the FNM.
