@mandela…. Hubert Minnis did have a strategy on how to deal with COVID19. The problem for him was that the Bahamian people did not agree with his strategy. They felt his plan was harsh, insensitive and counterproductive.
Maurice Moore’s position on this matter is as outdated as he is. Any sane person living in the Bahamas for the past few years would agree that Hubert Minnis’ popularity amongst the electorate is beyond repair. There is simply no way that he can salvage leadership of the FNM party. And attempting to do so would only set the FNM back decades.
Why hasn’t anyone express concern over this blatant and outrageous “conflict of interest” that is Wayne Munroe. I am astounded by the fact the Opposition/FNM has allowed this travesty to go unchecked. Wayne Munroe is by trade a criminal defense attorney. He has represented clients including murderers, rapist, drug dealers, and some of the most unsavory characters against charges levied by the Crown. To have him serving as head of national security is absurd to say the least! Under no circumstances should any individual be allowed to serve on both sides of the law. If this practice is allowed, then one office would undoubtably compromise the other! Can you imagine Wayne Munroe giving instructions to police officers who have investigated cases that he has represented??? That’s a flagrant violation of the justice system! How can a criminal defense attorney also be in charge of the police force??? What kind of country is this???
I don’t understand why Dr. Minnis is crying. He brought this on himself and his party. His hostile and careless attitude towards the immediate concerns of the Bahamian people is why the FNM lost. It almost seems as if Hubert Minnis did everything in his power to guarantee an FNM loss.
@ThisisOurs….. I’ve tried to explained as clearly as I could the pathophysiology and epidemiology behind COVID-19. As it relates to demographics COVID-19 is multilateral in that it affects all populations. Because it triggers pulmonary complications it also exacerbates pre-existing health conditions (mainly renal, hepatic, cardiac and respiratory insufficiencies). At some point these types of patients usually succumb to some variation of organ failure. And while this may seem dreadful, it’s nothing unusual when combating a respiratory pathogen. As healthcare workers we maintain a systematic approach focused on treating fluid and electrolyte imbalances, treating respiratory alterations while reducing infection rates among patients. Treatment options are usually confined to antivirals, corticosteroids, synthetic antibodies, and anticoagulants. Hoverer, effectiveness varies between individuals.
The truth of the matter is The Bahamas lost the battle to COVID-19 years ago. Simply put “our country never constructed an adequate healthcare system”. The only solution to slowing the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the Bahamas right now is to do what nobody wants to do……. and that’s to lock the country down for a period of time again. Not a very favorable choice I must agree….. but necessary.
Are you listening to yourself??? Are you a home owner; or business owner; or a land owner??? How would you feel if your property were blocking access to a desired location only to have people breach your property to get there. I image that would certainly change your perspective.
While we hate to see access to our public beaches decline; please don’t blame the property owners. Instead, we need to place the burden of the blame squarely at the feet of our shortsighted, bewildered, idiotic government. Whenever it comes to beachfront property, matters pertaining to public access should be conducted before a sale is finalized. And what these lying politicians aren’t telling the general public is that many of these access issues have already been finalized and paid-for by the property owners! In other words, our governments SOLD our access to these public beaches. So think about that.
That’s right! He did have a plan. But the Bahamian people voted him out of office because they didn’t like his plan. So now I ask the Bahamian people….. Now what??? What’s the alternative???
Never did!! All they did was exploit the COVID-19 crisis and play on the emotions of gullible Bahamian people by politicizing the Pandemic. Brave Davis knew damn well he had no practical solutions to slow the spread of the virus. Instead, he gave in to public pressure in order to secure votes by reducing restrictions. So here we are! And a lot of people are going to start dying again as this latest outbreak continues to proliferate. This “New Day” is beginning to look like “Doomsday”.

Vaccines expire quickly. They have a short shelf life. If they aren’t used in a certain amount of time they have to be discarded.
