(correction) no government of the Bahamas has ever had the confidence of the Bahamian people.

I agree. And this practice has plagued Bahamian politics for decades. Problem-solving should not be a unilateral step Mr. Prime Minister. Delegates and government personnel need to be consulted. By doing so, all possible scenarios and outcomes can be planned and discussed. Minnis dropped the ball on this one. But let’s not overreact.

Mr Sands, please stop the rubbish. We know political posturing when we see it. It’s obvious that you are only willing to emerge when you wish to “take a shot” at the government.
First of all, no government of the Bahamas never had the confidence of the Bahamian people. Historically speaking, Bahamians grumble, complain and point fingers, regardless of who is in office. There is simply no satisfying them. Secondly, you Mr Sands, have no credibility left as it relates to ethics and morale. You sought to deceive the Bahamian public and eventually had to be unceremoniously removed from office. So you’re in no position to criticize. If you think you can use this opportunity to lay the framework for a bid to become the next leader of the FNM, you are grossly mistaken.
Yes, Dr Minnis made an error in judgment and needs to use this a a teaching-moment moving forward. He needs to accept and understand that no more unilateral steps should be taken when dealing with matters related to the pandemic.

The virus is out there and it’s spreading. Trust God, not the government. Rely on daily statistics posted online by the CDC. Practice social distancing, wear a mask, stay at home and stop complaining. That’s all you need to know.

Spoken like a typical back seat driver. Blah blah blah, complain complain complain.... that’s all we Bahamian people do. No matter who takes office, all we do is criticize. One faction of people are criticizing the PM for not opening the boarders while the other faction is demanding it’s closure. No one is ever good enough to satisfy our arm-chair demands. Do you realize that if you were the PM we would be saying the exact same thing about you?
The COVID19 virus has taken the entire world by storm. There is no blueprint on how to deal with it. There is no protocol or scientific algorithm that we can apply to stop its spread. As scientist, we are learning as we go, simultaneously collecting critical data that may be helpful to our study. The only reason that Dr. Minnis reopened the boarders was to attempt to stimulate the economy. If we place this decision in its proper perspective, it at least makes logical sense. Every decision made by every global leader bears a heightened level of risk, thus its placed under a microscope. Some decisions are good, while others (in hind sight) are not so good. But like I said, “we are all learning as we go”. The only thing that Dr. Minnis can do is follow the suggestions made by global Health Care professionals.
So please stop with the ignorance and stupidity. Use inductive and deductive logic to assess the situation. Use socratic questioning and critical thinking please. Use reasoning and stop blurting out every piece of rubbish that comes to mind.

What in the world do you me he “has no proof to support his claim???”
You can’t be serious! Have you been living in the Bahamas for the past 10 years??? Nobody with sense listens to anything Brave Davis has to say.

Cobalt says...

@Godson. Why are you so sympathetic towards these gun-totting criminals??? Do you have relatives or family members who have been charged and sentenced for such crimes??? It’s been historically noted that family members of criminals usually sympathize with the criminal element while law abiding citizens usually advocate for the death penalty. Hmmm 🤔

Cobalt says...

No no no! There is no vacancy of knowledge here! We are simply telling you that there is no excuse for criminal behavior nor should you mitigate that fact! Furthermore, who would “appreciate a vacancy of knowledge”? That makes absolutely no sense. Maybe you should have used the word “acknowledge” instead of “appreciate”. Either way, if your reasoning had any credibility, then the magistrate wouldn’t be sentencing gun-totting criminals to jail! So I ask you again; what do you contribute to the betterment of our youth??? People like you just run their mouths out of a misplaced sense of emotions..... then you get upset when others correct you! When you have the opportunity, go sit in the Supreme Court and listen to a murder trail! The judge would reiterate the same thing I’m saying!

Cobalt says...

I’m trying to figure out what he’s talking about right now!

Cobalt says...

But you don’t know who I am either to make such statements! Both my brother and I operate a Boys Club in Nassau to influence adolescent teens! That’s how I know that too many of these homes are in disarray! We actually funded the Hugh Campbell Basketball Tournament as well as the Public Primary School Track and Field Meet! So what do you contribute??? You don’t know what I’ve had to contend with any more than I know what you’ve had to contend with! Furthermore, you’ve just unwittingly solidified my point! A rough upbringing is no excuse for criminal behavior! Like you said, many of our prominent men grew up on the rough side of the mountain yet did exceptionally well for themselves! There are no excuses in this life and there are no excuses before God!
