So Mr. Mitchell admits that his reason for traveling so much so quickly is to announce to the world that the PLP was back in power. ....Exactly who would this be good news to? I guess the same people who Mr. Mitchell was defending when he blasted the U.S. Government for using anti-drug trafficking spy drones in the Bahamas.
Cancel all franchise license. If a driver wants to drive they will get a full time job with the national transport authority - no jockeying for fares, no speeding, no shortcuts, no loud music and no cash to get robbed. If you block the streets in protest, you get arrested. stop joking and fix the country. Franchise owners can get double stock value whenever the authority offer shares.
Isn't it suspicious that 12 men can be caught with 3 marijuana plants but yet no one can be held account for acres of marijuana in Freeport? Very suspicious and very interesting.
Why is the PLP government so hell-bent on destroying the country financially? If there is no money, why give raises to the 16,000 public servants when so many others are out of a job?
Now that Fred Mitchell's face is covered in egg and shame for his previous silly assertions against the United States, he uses this statement as a come back - not acceptable!! Admit that you did not research your job and move on. Admit that you spoke anti-American words and apologize. Admit that you travel too much and please start spending more time doing the real work of the nation.
Because Jason, those are all obvious solutions and there is no glory in the obvious. We prefer to be donkeys running around the same bush over and over again, looking for handouts. If Sir Stafford Sands and Sir Lynden said that tourism is the Bahamas' priority then nothing can change. We are forever bound to look to the rich, white foreigner for our survival.
I could have sworn that the PLP campaigned that the FNM failed the tourism industry and the it was in its worst condition ever. More and more the facts are being revealed - first it was revealed that there were more cruise ship passengers than ever before, especially in the bleak global economic state, and now we are seeing that the marketing programs of the ministry of tourism actually produced a monthly increase in stopover visitors. Obie Wilchombe said in the national media and Perry Christie followed up on it, that the FNM had made the Bahamas far behind other Caribbean nations in tourism and now we are being told that the Bahamas is the envy of other region that we were able to hold our own during tough times. Ummmm... I wonder what other untruths were told by the former Opposition and now current government. **WOW!!**

Great idea. But sadly we will need to be a nation with non-partisan vision in order to make something as obvious as this a reality.
